Diolen® Diofort®
Polyester High Performance GmbH arose out of the take over of Diolen Industrial Fi-bers by Polyamide High Performance GmbH end of February 2009. The restructured polyester business has been fully integrated into the PHP organization. Polyester High Performance continues to produce and market its products under the well know brand names Diolen® and Diofort® (high-tenacity polyphenylene sulphide yarns). The position as a reliable leading European polyester yarn company with focus on high quality products will remain unchanged. Production facilities with state-of-the-art equipment are located in Obernburg/Germany. Application Areas The wide range of high-tenacity Diolen® and Diofort® yarn types is tuned to specific re-quirements and perform worldwide successfully in various fields of technical applications where safety and reliability belong to the key requirements. Main Applications: Diolen® Mechanical Rubber Goods / Reinforced Polymer Products: Heavy-weight conveyor belts, transmission belts, rubber hoses and TP(E) hoses Coated / Uncoated Broad Fabrics (produced by weaving or warp knitting): Tarpaulins, billboards, roofing membranes, awnings, tents, light-weight conveyor and processing belts, textile constructions, inflatable products, geotextiles, filtration fabrics and sail cloth Automotive Products: Seatbelts, hoses and transmission belts Narrow-woven Belts Diofort® Filtration, rubber hoses and sewing thread For further details on the yarn properties and/or more information about potential uses, please contact the Technical Marketing Department (addresses see next pages).

Abbreviations of Physical Parameters (defined according to BISFA) LD – Linear density (dtex)..............................The mass per unit length of an essen-
tially linear structure. (1 dtex = 1 g / 10.000 m) BF – Breaking force (N)..................................The maximum force applied to a test spe-
cimen carried to rupture during a tensile test under specified conditions.
BT – Breaking tenacity (mN/tex) ..................The breaking force divided by linear den-
sity. EAB – Elongation at break (%) .......................The elongation of a test specimen pro-
duced by the breaking force. EASF – Elongation at specified force (%) ...The elongation of a test specimen pro-
duced by a specified force. HAS – Hot air shrinkage (%) ..........................The decrease in length of a test specimen
caused by a treatment in hot air under specified temperature and time, expressed as a percentage of the length of the un-treated test specimen.
The lengths are measured before (under specified pretension) and during treat-ment (under a specified measuring ten-sion).
