ESAsolar Fixed Structure HC-44The HC-44 ESAsolar systems are characterized by their quick mounting, long useful life andhigh profitability. The structure is made in high-strength aluminium and S355 galvanizedsteel, taking as reference CTE DB–SE–A(ESPAÑA) and EUROCODIGO 1, 3, 4, 8 y 9 (UE–INTERNACIONAL), all in accordance with the client requirements and the regulations in force.

All of the structure components have been designed with load and fatigue simulationsoftware to verify its durability.

In each project a mechanical report of the soil is performed and the most optimal solutionfor each location, always minimizing costs, increasing profitability and amortizing theinvestment in the shortest possible time, is designed and proposed to the client.

ESAsolar Fixed Structure HA-44The HA 44 ESAsolar systems are characterized by their strength, adaptability, quick and easymounting and high profitability. All structures are made in magnelis type steel S350GD +ZM310 or S350GD + ZM430 and galvanized steel S355JR, and are designed taking as thestandard reference CTE DB–SE–A(ESPAÑA), EUROCODIGO 1, 3, 4 y 8 (UE–INTERNACIONAL),EAE and/or international standards ASCE or national standards of the country where thesolar plant is located. All in accordance with the client requirements and the regulations inforce.

The structure is customized in accordance with the following parameters: configuration withvertical modules and configuration of horizontal modules both monofacial and bifacial. Thedesign of the bifacial structures is carried out by avoiding having shadows on the rear part ofthe module.

All of the components have been designed and simulated using finite element programs.

ESAtrack-M5: mono-axial horizontal trackerESAtrack-M5, designed by ESAsolar, is a mono-axial horizontal tracker that provides higherenergy performance in comparison with a fixed structure.

Thanks to its design, the horizontal axis tracker ESAtrack-M5 allows a perfect regulation andthe adjustment of the small deviations that arise during the erection process. Thanks to thisflexiblity, the costly foundation process is avoided, as long as the terrain allows it,contributing even further to the minimisation of installation costs allowing a faster facilitystart up and amortization.

The modules can be assembled in different configurations: one or two module rows placedvertically (1V or 2V) or two or there module rows placed horizontally (2H or 3H). The mostpopular and economically efficient configuration is one row of vertical modules with 90modules per tracker in the case of 1V and 120 modules per tracker in the case of 2V.

The modules are mounted on purlins using aluminum clips, rivets or screws. The purlins areconnected with the axis which rotates following the perpendicularity with the sunlight usingself-lubricating ball joints. The range of rotation is between +/-60º from the horizontalposition.

ENGINEERING DEPARTMENTESAsolar has a highly qualified engineering department, specialized in photovoltaic energythat analyses, designs and calculates the photovoltaic structures where the solar panels willbe installed.

Each project is studied independentlyand in detail, taking into account allpossible variables: type of soil,module configuration, locationenvironment …, always assessing theclient in order to propose the bestsolution, seeking a reduction in costs,increase in profitability andamortizing the investment in the leastpossible time without reducing theresistance and life cycle of thestructure.

In all cases, the design andcalculations are performed taking intoaccount the regulations andrequirements of each country,applying the relevant wind and snowloads, as well as the earthquakesimulations, as applicable.

RESEARCH, DEVELOPMENT & INNOVATION (R+D+i)ESAsolar works with a process of continuous improvement of its solutions through its R+D+idepartment, with bifacial trackers and bifacial fixed structures among its latest developments.

ESAsolar protects its innovations and has six patents pending related with the needs of thephotovoltaic sector and its own products.

The patents pending are proprietary solutions developed by ESAsolar that focus onoptimizing or solving the following challenges in the photovoltaic sector:

• Elimination of the adverse effects of the wind caused by the so-called galloping / fluttering effects (two patents pending).

• Improving the adaptability of trackers to the terrain: minimizing soil movements and standardizing the manufacturing of components and the required driving length.

• Optimization to reduce the time required for the trackers assembly.

• Proprietary tracker bearing design.

PROTOTYPE PLANT AND TESTING AND RESEARCH LABORATORYESAsolar innovative and research tasks are performed at its own prototype plant, where theimprovements identified during the development of its products or as sector needs aretested. The innovations and improvements are applied not only in ESAsolar products, butalso in their installation process, in order to offer the client an improved, optimised andcustomised service in the design and supply of the structures and trackers.

The prototype plant, located in La Roda de Andalucia, and very near to ESAsolar´s technicaloffice, is the place where the products developments and the solution to the necessities ofthe photovoltaic market are developed, tested and verified.

MOUNTING ESAsolar STRUCTURESSoil properties

Esasolar structures can be installed in areas with different slopes due to the versatility andthe different possible configurations of the structure designed depending on to the type ofsurface.

ESAsolar offers mounting solutions on any type of terrain, due to the versatility of itsphotovoltaic structures.

ESAsolar´s structures adapt to the orography of the land, enabling a more agile, fast andprecise mounting, saving costs, without reducing erection yields.

Structure fixingRamming

The ramming process is performed by a kneading machine, number of daily rammed poles will depend on the characteristics of the terrain. On rocky terrains, the machine can be equipped with a drill and afterwards the ramming process takes place.

The ramming process is environmentally friendly since no concrete is used and thephotovoltaic structures can be dismantled in the future without leaving any footprint.

The mounting of galvanized steel profiles allows a quick and accurate installation of thestructure on the ground.

Structure fixingMicro piling

Even though the micro piles can be placed on any type of terrain, they mainly apply insituations where ramming and pre-drilling are not possible due to the presence of rocks or insoils with a high sulphates content.

Sulphates are highly dangerous since they corrode the metal of the structure very quicklyand attack the concrete. In order to avoid these effects, our engineering department willpropose the additives to be added to the concrete and design the micro piles.

This type of foundation consists in drilling a hole with a small diameter (between 200 and250 mm) where afterwards the pole and the concrete are inserted.
