Objective
• My students can define the process of photosynthesis. By starting the day out by a photosynthesis song, students will have an catchy informational song to help with the process of photosynthesis. Students will demonstrate their new knowledge of photosynthesis from lecture, science videos, and observation. With the use of the internet, the students will once again demonstrate the photosynthesis process through a PowerPoint dealing with their group plant. This will be over a week course with a 90% degree of accuracy.
Day by Day breakdown = equation breakdown
• Day 1: collect leaves from different plants around school in groups of 5, song, begin explanation of carbon dioxide, research their plant,
• Day 2: song, leaf rubbing to demonstrate the veins in the leaf, explanation of water, and research their plant
• Day 3: song, explanation of light energy, and time to examine leaves
• Day 4: song, explanation of glucose and oxygen, and finalize project
• Day 5: carbon dioxide + water + light energy = glucose + oxygen, present projects
Use of Technology
• YouTube• PowerPoint• Science Video• Microscope • Internet
