I selected the dodge tool by going to the Dodge/Burn selector and selecting the dodge tool

This is the original photograph. On the next slide I will apply some dodging to the eye bags.

This is the edited photograph. As you can see the eye bags are brighter and blend in better.

I selected the burn tool by going to the Dodge/Burn selector and selecting the burn tool

This is the original photograph. On the next slide I will apply some burning to the eyebrows.

This is the updated photograph. As you can see, the eyebrows are darker than they were previously.

I have further burned the eyebrows.

You can also use the dodge/burn tool to manipulate photos in an unrealistic way. For example, here I burned the centre of the eyes with a soft brush.
