PHOTOGRAPHER BIOGRAPHIES CAMILLA AKRANS Camilla Akrans, an award-winning photographer, began taking pictures in Sweden in 1999. Drawing her inspiration from cinema and her own personal experiences, her photographs tell stories with color and emotion. RICHARD BURBRIDGE Richard Burbridge’s technically ambitious photography explores the alchemical medium of photography. Transforming his subjects—fashion, portraiture, beauty, and still life photography, Burbridge subverts the expected. His inventive editorial work appears in Harper’s Bazaar, Italian Vogue, i-D, and V. His still life and beauty photography, which can be seen in campaigns for Chaumet, Givenchy, Hermès, Louis Vuitton Eyewear, and M.A.C, is elegantly experimental and meticulous. NATHANIEL GOLDBERG Nathaniel Goldberg was born and educated in France and undertook his photography apprenticeship in New York. His distinctive flair for fashion image-making gained recognition in the late 1990s, attracting a prestigious range of editorial and advertising clients, as well as film projects. With a worldwide gallery courtesy of Harper’s Bazaar, V, VMan, W, GQ, and Italian, French and Japanese Vogue, Nathaniel Goldberg is one of fashion’s most exciting talents. His advertising clients include Calvin Klein, DKNY, Ferragamo, Giorgio Armani, Hermès, and Levi’s. He has photographed campaigns for Chanel and Nina Ricci fragrances and for Lancaster and Shiseido cosmetics. HIRO One of the most influential figures in post-war American photography, Hiro’s distinguished career as an exquisite fashion, still life, and portrait photographer began in 1957 at Harper’s Bazaar. Born Yasuhiro Wakabayashi to Japanese parents in 1930 in Shanghai, Hiro came to America in 1954 to study photography at the American Institute of Graphic Arts. KARL LAGERFELD When ready-to-wear came into its own at the beginning of the 60s, Karl Lagerfeld plunged into a career as an independent stylist in France, Italy, England, and Germany. In 1984, he created his own line “Karl Lagerfeld,” while continuing his collaboration with the houses of both Chanel and Fendi. He decided to move behind the lens in 1987 with his first press kit, and since then Lagerfeld has created his own advertising campaigns. His passion for photography has transformed his campaigns into veritable art books, and Lagerfeld continues to work on photo shoots for prestigious fashion magazines such as Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue. ALEXI LUBOMIRSKIAlexi Lubomirski began his career in fashion photography as an assistant to Mario Testino in London after completing a photography degree at Brighton University. In 2003, after four years with Testino, Lubomirski emerged on his own as an exciting new force in photography, producing playful, stylish images that mix sex appeal with sophisticated technical and lighting ability. Lubomirski’s photographs have been widely published and his editorial credits include Harper’s Bazaar, The Face, V, and POP. Additionally, his recent advertising campaigns include Ellen Tracy, Lancôme, L’Oréal, and Valentino.

GLEN LUCHFORDGlen Luchford’s rich, dramatic images reveal an intense cinematic style that spans fashion, portraiture, and contemporary art. He has photographed memorable campaigns for such clients as Calvin Klein, Hugo Boss, Jaguar, Mercedes Benz, Prada, and Yves Saint Laurent, and his portraits of leading cultural figures have appeared in numerous international publications. His seductive and imaginative fashion editorial work is regularly featured in leading magazines such as Harper’s Bazaar, Italian, French, and American Vogue, Vanity Fair, Another Magazine, and W. Luchford’s photography is archived at the Victoria and Albert Museum as part of the British National Collection of the Art of Photography, and a biographic interview with Luchford is included in the Oral History of British Photography at the British Library.

TERRY RICHARDSONTerry Richardson is one of the most prolific and compelling photographers of his generation. Known for his uncanny ability to cut to the raw essence of whomever appears before his lens, Mr. Richardson’s vision is at once humorous, tragic, often beautiful, and always provocative. Born in New York City and raised in Hollywood, Terry began photographing his environment while attending high school. Terry’s editorial work has appeared in magazines such as Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue, GQ, W, Dazed and Confused, and i-D. He has also captured campaigns for such clients as Belvedere, Carolina Herrera, Chloé, Elie Tahari, Gucci, Lacoste, Miu Miu, Sisley and Tom Ford. Terry has recently made the transition from still photography to film, helming music videos, television commercials, and a feature film debut.

MARIO SORRENTIMario Sorrenti grew up in a creative family environment. With his father an artist and his mother working in the fashion industry, Sorrenti started documenting his life through photography in his teens. Sorrenti’s work came to the attention of several leading creative directors, which eventually led to Calvin Klein commissioning him to work on the advertising campaign for his apparel collection and Obsession Fragrance. Since then, Sorrenti has collaborated with Calvin Klein Jewelry, Hermès, H&M, Lancôme, Longchamp, and Prada Fragrance. His editorial credits include Harper’s Bazaar, Visionaire, L’Uomo Vogue, and Arena Homme Plus, and he has directed commercials for Benetton, Calvin Klein’s Obsession and Escape fragrances, and Paco Rabanne.

SØLVE SUNDSBØBorn in Norway and residing in London, Sølve Sundsbø has been shooting regularly for magazines such as Harper’s Bazaar, Visionaire, V, W, Pop, and Vogue Nippon. His clients include Bally, Christian Dior Parfums, Estée Lauder, Gucci Jewelry, Lancôme, Levi’s, Nike, and Yves Saint Laurent Parfums. His most recent exhibitions include “Chanel, Art as Universe” in Moscow and “Case Study: Art and Commerce” in Oslo.

TERRY TSIOLISTerry Tsiolis was born and raised in Montréal, Canada and left for New York City to obtain a Master’s Degree in Communications. Soon after, Tsiolis worked under Fabien Baron and Liz Tilberis at Harper’s Bazaar. Inspired by this experience, he began to pursue a career in fashion photography and has now been taking pictures for eight years. Tsiolis’ editorial credits include Harper’s Bazaar, Arena Hommes Plus, The Face, i-D, L’Uomo Vogue, and V. His advertising clients include Anne Klein, Armani, Burberry, Byblos, Club Monaco, Cole Haan, DKNY, Dunhill, Eres, and J. Crew.

ANTHONY WARDAnthony Ward was born and raised in London, England. He started his career and training in the film and television industry, and eventually moved to Los Angeles and opened his own production company. Photography, however, was always his passion. Anthony’s work has appeared in various magazines including French Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, V, Vogue Nippon, and i-D. Some advertising clients include Barneys CO-OP, Helmut Lang, and Procter & Gamble.
