Summarize


Things You Should Know

• 6900 firmware upgrade required for SIP solutions

• 6920/30/40 phones ship with Minet (MiVB) firmware installed. Before use in SIP environment phone must be upgraded with appropriate SIP 69x0.st

firmware. Upgrade process is similar but not exactly the same as SIP firmware options today (refer to upgrade document for details). Also note that

upgrade methods were expanded in Minet build 1.1.xyz, so if by chance inventory has Minet firmware that pre-dates that build then upgrade process

is different.

• 6940 BT handset must be paired after upgrade

• When a 6940 is first upgraded to SIP firmware, the pairing of the supplied BT cordless handset is lost. User must pair handset before use (option

key/BT/select and pair handset listed).

• Note, if multiple handsets in range care to select appropriate handset. May need to turn off handsets (long press top key on handset to turn off,

replace in cradle of phone to turn on).

• 6900 firmware locked, 6800 unlocked

• 6800 phones are sold into Open Standards market (Broadsoft, Asterisk etc) as well as behind Mitel solutions (MX-ONE, 5000, 400, Telepo, etc).

• 6900 phones sold ONLY into Mitel solutions and the firmware only allows registration for defined call controls platforms – ie will not work with

Broadsoft, Asterisk, Metaswitch

• WLAN Adapter – don’t forget the power cord!

• The wireless LAN adapter (WLAN) comes with a power converter “brick” but the actual power cord that connects brick to wall socket is a separate

SKU. It’s a standard C7 power cord and Mitel sells regional variants. CPQ will prompt but frequently overlooked.
