Bringing Out the Spirit!

Purdue University, home of the Boilermakers!

We are Pur-due! This cheer is shouted throughout Macky Arena in the beginning of each basketball game. The ceremony process before each basketball game pumps up the crowd for the game and for being a part of this school. The Purdue “P” is a motivating logo for our school. It demonstrates our design that is displayed all over the school. The entertainment of the

cheerleaders and flag squad is a motivational experience for students, alumni, and families to enjoy.

Spirt runs through our families.

Purdue has a way of connecting our family members together. Most people I have talked to have mentioned that they are here because it has been a family tradition to attend Purdue University after high school. No one from my family ever came here to Purdue, but my family has always supported my decision. They all have bough t-shirts and watch all the sports games on TV. My mom flew down and surprised me in the beginning of this year. Even if it is not a family tradi-

tion, Purdue accepts all families and makes us apart of their family.

The crowd is our voice.

Students, parents, grandparents, alumni, children, and babies all are a part of each game Purdue holds. The spirit of Purdue University comes from the crowd filled with all different people from ages to ethnicity. We all come together as one to pump up our team to do their very best. It is our journey through Purdue that we will always remember. We are here to make those memories and keep them for a life time. A teacher from my old high school came to Purdue and told me once, “You will never forget the many experiences that you have had here, so make them your best!” This quote has always stuck

with me and will till I graduate.

Purdue Pete, our school mascot!

First coming to this school I asked myself, what is a Boilermaker? What will be our mascot? Being here now it is well known that Purdue Pete is our pump up and fun mascot. But truly we are all Boilermakers. This mascot is not defined as a train or an engineer it is everyone the here at Purdue University. We all support and put in a great amount of time towards our school. It’s time we celebrate and throw our hats off because we are all Purdue Universities mascot. We are Boilermakers!

Ross- Ade Stadium is filled with thousands of supporting Purdue fans. The excitment that travels through this stadium is remarkable. Fans dressed up in black and gold clothing, some covered in paint, or the Breakfast club students in any costume imaginable are all here to cheer on their school’s football team. These fans are not just supposting this ahtletic team but they are here for all teams at Purdue providing a motivational mood throughout each game. Winning is the

goal for each game, but school spirit is our passion.

Purdue University knows how to pump up their crowd.

Attending the first Pudue University football game was crazy. The amount of sprit the students had really shocked me. The school knew how to really pump up their crowed especially the band. In the beginning ceremony the ban plays creating different shapes with all their memebrs. I really enjoyed seeing the flags spell out Purdue

pass by.

Spirt and motivation gets everyone involved.

It may be hard to motivate college students to participate in volunteer work but no here at Purdue University. Purdue University Dance Marathon is one of their biggest organizations that raise money for the children in Riley Hospital. To get students involved and interested fun t-shirts and they provide a competition that is separated by colors. I remember the fun of dancing with everyone and always feeling motivated to stay for the eighteen hours this marathon was going on for. The spirit of these Purdue students is always an experience like

no other.

Purdue, a well known name around the globe. No wonder everyone from all over goes here. Being a freshman this year i have already met people from different countries such has portugal jordan quater germany irland and tiwan. The culture and different background history each person has is amazing. Purdue is a welcoming home to everyone all over. Grow-ing up in such a small town never experiencing the different cultures and races, it amazed me how diverse this school was.

Its a great experience to lrean about countries and culture differences.
