Philosophy on Teaching

The player is the key component of our Academy, and we understand that through out the years, we have a young person that we need to help develop into an adult person. Therefore for us is very important to focus on the Integral Education of each player. We CANNOT have good players if we do not have GOOD Persons first.
Everything will be connected from our Vision to each one of the exercises we use during our training sessions. We will use modern and age appropiate training methodology around the main idea of having an integral education / development of our players.
We based our training periodization in 3 principles that are connected to our vision and style of play implemented across ourclub;

Philosophy on Soccer – Style of Play

Attacking
We want to dictate the tempo of the game and control it through possession of the ball. We want to take the initiative of the game, have the confidence to build from the back through short passing / combinations, take care of the ball and look to have it more than the opponent but also have the ability to change rhythm of the game by playing direct / behind during the moments where the game demands it.
Team assumes the risk of combining in all areas of the field, players are not afraid to build out from the back looking for opportunities to penetrate while we treasure the ball and do not force situations. We want a very dynamic team / players on / off the ball. Once in the final third we want complete freedom for our players to be creative and be proactive on taking players 1v1 while looking to to finish play quickly.
Our GK is our first attacker! Everyone plays offensively
Defense
We want to be very very compact, organize and aggressive defensively and look to recover the ball in the identify situations. We want to have a high block and apply high pressure but also understanding the right moments to pressure or retreat depending on the moments of the game. Teams understand the importance of working together as a block in an organized manner (helping each other defensively), while having high intensity, high work rate and concentration = defensive awareness
Our #9 is our first defender! Everyone plays defensively.
Transition – Sponge Concept
When possession is lost, players must react quickly and step towards the ball to reduce the space / time for the opponent. Once possession is regained, we cannot lose it again (EASY First Pass) while players will be positioned immediately to counter-attack or keep possession of the ball. Players always need to think about next step: What happens if we lose the ball? What happens if we win it?
