I What is ActiLume Wireless DALI 2nd Generation

The ActiLume Wireless DALI System is a new easy to install and easy to use luminaire based control solution. It is suitable for officeand industrial environments and offers maximum comfort and automatic energy/C02 savings. The system can switch the artificiallights automatically on and off based on occupancy and dims the luminaires (artificial lights) when enough daylight (natural light)enters the area.

Although the ActiLume Wireless DALI system is intended to be used as an easy to install system, some commissioning willsometimes be needed. Commissioning is done by means of an infrared (IR) remote control. This will set the artificial light accordingto the designer’s requested light level, switch the controller off or dim the light after a certain period of time. By means of the IRremote control a network and zones within the network can be created and scenes can be programmed and selected or a specificlight level can be set.

The ActiLume Wireless DALI system consists of a sensor and a control unit, both designed to be built into a luminaire. The sensorcontains two functions - a light sensor for daylight dependent light level regulation (DDR) and a movement detector for occupancycontrol. The lighting can also be controlled manually by a wired switch with a momentary contact (Touch and Dim). The system isoperated with any DALI compatible ballast/driver.

The ActiLume Wireless I - I OV DALI is a luminaire based lighting control system. The luminaires are connected and mounted in theceiling. Via the IR remote the required light level can be adjusted. This setting is then automatically copied into the other ActiLumeWireless DALI on closing the network. The system is now ready for use. With the commissioning procedure as described in thisdocument, several devices can be linked together so they will act as one system.

As the system’s name already implies, it can also be controlled via a secured radio connection which makes use of the ZigBeeprotocol (2.4GHz, 2007/ZigBee PRO), via a special remote controller. With this remote control limited functions are available forpersonal control of the lights. Various ZigBee devices (up to 50 devices) from this family can be connected together into onenetwork which can be split-up, into a maximum of 32 zones. Note that encrypted commands are used for communication betweenthe different Philips devices.

This chapter will cover the product characteristics of the ActiLume Wireless DALI gen2 sensor and controller.

2.1 ActiLume gen2 Multi-Sensor LRI 1663

The ActiLume gen2 Multi-Sensor contains four functional devices in one housing and is wired with a connection cable of one meterto the controller. The functional devices are:

• Infrared receiver

• Light detector

• Movement detector (PIR)

• Presence detector indicator

The application area of ActiLume Wireless DALI is a typical indoor environment (offices, corridors, meeting rooms, etc.) in normallyheated and ventilated areas. ActiLume Wireless DALI has no protection against aggressive chemicals or water (pollution degree 2).The sensor is normally mounted inside a Class I luminaire and is optimized for a ceiling height of 2.5 to 3 meter. The mounting heightcan reach up to 5 meter but the sensitivity patterns of the sensors will change accordingly.

The infrared receiver serves as a communication portal for the commissioning tool and also for thefollowing user interfaces:

2.1.2 Light sensor

The (day)light sensor is a photo diode that reads actual average illuminance in Candela per m2 capturedunder an angle of approximately 72t. The intensity of the illuminance depends on the amount of artificialand/or natural light supplied in the office as well as how well this light is reflected towards the ceiling/sensor.The light reflection depends highly on the colors chosen to furbish the office, and can vary between 0.1 forpure dull black to 0.5 for a complete glossy white furnished office. In an average office the reflection factor is0.3. The illuminance signal is sent continuously to the ActiLume Wireless DALI gen2 controller. TheActiLume Wireless DALI gen2 controller translates these signals into dimming commands in order to get aconstant light level on the desk of approximately 600 lux (factory default value).

The daylight sensor should be installed with a minimum distance of 0.6 meter to the window to avoid thesensor looking outside.

When the sensor is mounted too close to the window it willlook partly outside. Sun reflection from a car bonnet or awindow of a car or snow can reflect directly into the sensor.The sensor will then measure such high illumination levels thatit will drive the artificial light to its minimal level or even switchoff the artificial lights. The optimum distance [Y] from thewindow to the ActiLume gen2 Multi-Sensor can be obtainedfrom the graph. This graph shows the relation between thedistance from the window to the sensor [Y] and the height [H]of the sensor.

2.1.3 Movement detector

The occupancy sensor is a PIR (Passive Infra-Red) sensor that detects movement with an X-Y cross-areaunder an angle of X 72° and Y 85°. When installed in a typical office ceiling at 3 meter height, it issensitive for small movements within a 4 by 5 meter area. It will cover small movements down to a fewcentimeters at the task area of a desk and is sensitive to large movements within a range of 6 by 8 meter

Though the sensor has a radial reach of 5 meter, the maximum recommended height to place the sensor in the ceiling is 3 meter toassure movement coverage and detection. The PIR sensor reacts on movement, by means of a temperature difference such as thehuman body temperature versus its surrounding temperature. The wired as well as wireless extension sensors are part of theActiLume Wireless DALI system, and are used to increase the movement detection range. The wired sensors have approximately thesame viewing specifications as the standard sensor (LRI 1663) whereas the wireless sensors have specific detection ranges andpatterns. More info on these sensors can be found in chapter X.X - “Extension sensor”.

2.1.4 Presence detector indicator

2.1.5 Other sensor specifications

The ActiLume sensor (LRI 1663) has an RJ 10 (4p4c) connector fixed to a cable. The length of the cable is 100 centimeters. The sensorhousing (casing) material is Polycarbonate UL94 V-0 and the color is dark grey (5 NC 10714 which is close to RAL 7024 Graphitegrey”). The housing is resistant to the glow wire test 850 °C / 5 seconds and has a basic insulation 1500 V. The dimensions of thesensor are as given below.

. 2.2 ActiLume Wireless DALI gen2 LLC 1686

The LLC 1686 is the heart of the system. It will take care of all the communication to the ballasts I drivers connected in a way that isfreely programmable or in a standard way by selecting a specific mode. There are 2 DALI outputs available that are internallyconnected in parallel. The LLC 1686 ActiLume Wireless DALI 2nd generation has various pre-programmed modes but if needed all

0functions can be programmed freely like switching on or off the daylight sensor independently of the PIR sensor.

It

Parallel Linking is done wirelessly. A network can be created in a very simple way. Furthermore within the network up to 32 zonescan be created giving extra functionality to the system.

2.4 Electrical characteristics

Some of the most important electrical characteristics that have to be kept in mind are the following:

• Both DALI ports have only basic insulation with respect to the mains. Since it is only basic insulation, a mains rated cableshould be used when one or both DALI lines are brought outside the luminaire in which the ActiLume Wireless DALI gen2is placed. Also a strain relief on the DALI line(s) is mandatory in this case. This is to ensure safety under all conditions.

• The touch and Dim input is mains voltage and should be treated as such, according to local standards and regulations. Theusage of a strain relief and mains rated cable is mandatory.

• The front of the sensor ensures double insulation. Nevertheless, if the sensor is used outside the luminaire or in a differentluminaire then the ActiLume Wireless DALI gen2 is placed, mains rated extension cables and strain reliefs must be used.

Furthermore, the DALI connections will be powered by the ActiLume itself, so there is no need for any external power supply. Thetotal load on the DALI lines is maximum 8mA. Since the two DALI lines are placed in parallel, the currents drawn from bothconnections need to be added up.

The absolute maximum rating for the DALI connection(s) for all configurations is I 2mA.

2.5 Ballast recovery feature (self-healing)

When a ballast/driver fails and is replaced by a new one, the system will automatically notice when this ballast is replaced and willconfigure the new ballast according to the original ballast. This means that with self-healing a complete re-commissioning of allballasts/drivers is no longer needed. ‘Ihii

During commissioning the ActiLume Wireless DALI gen2 knows which device is set into which Group and what address it has. Ofcourse, allowing the ActiLume Wireless DALI gen2 to have this data means it needs to be commissioned (using the DALI button onthe IRT9O9O — see also chapter Error! Reference source not found., “Error! Reference soUrce not found.”). The ActiLumeWireless DALI gen2 keeps in constant contact with all ballasts/drivers connected by sending every now and then, a DALI query. Assoon as one of the devices is not reacting anymore to the query sent, this is a sign that the device is not there anymore and theActiLume will start searching for a “virgin” device. If this defective device is now exchanged by a new device without an address, thiswill be noticed. The ActiLume Wireless DALI gen2 will assume this is a replacement for the not responding” address. The ActiLumeWireless DALI gen2 will program the new device in the same way as the defective/removed device.

Of course, it goes without saying that if 2 or more devices spread over 2 or more groups, are defect and being replaced, theActiLume Wireless DALI gen2 does not know which one should replace which removed/defective device. Unfortunately, in this casethe system needs to be re-commissioned (using the DALI button on the 1RT9090 — see chapter Error! Reference source notfound., “Error! Reference source not found.”). Therefore it is of great importance that if a device connected to the ActiLumeWireless DALI gen2 is defect, it is being replaced as soon as possible to prevent this situation.

It is not allowed to connect an extrapower supply to any of the DALIconnections. This will permanently

damage the ActiLume DALI gen2.

2.6 Limitation on number of devices per network

The number of devices that can be placed into a wireless network is limited to 50 devices. Apart from that, there are also limitationson the various different devices. These limitations you can find in the following table:

Since the ActiLume Wireless DALI is only capable of supplying 8mA to the DALI line, the maximum number of devices that can beconnected to it is 4. It is not allowed to connect an extra power supply to any of the DALI connections. This will permanentlydamage the ActiLume DALI gen2.

2.7 Default values for various timings

In the ActiLume Wireless DALI gen2 there are several timers for when to do something after last movement has been detected.Within the various different modes these timers can have a different default value. The timers used throughout this document are:

• Dwell time• Hold time• Grace time• Prolong time• Retention time• Smart time

As soon as no movement has been detected anymore, all timers start in the following sequence.

Dwell time is TI to T2 and is very useful in certain applications like free floor standing luminaires. Dwell time is a timer that startsrunning when presence is detected after the room being unoccupied. During this time the lights will be set into background level. Ifafter the dwell time there is still occupancy detected, the lights will go to DDR level. For all modes this timer is by default set to 0seconds.

Possible values are 0, I, 2, 3 15 seconds.

Hold time is the time (T3 to T4) from the point at which the last movement has been detected until grace time starts. Thefollowing hold times are the default values: This is 15 minutes for all modes by default.

• 5 minutes for Mode 1,2,3 and 4. 5 minutes for Mode 5, 7, 9, 10 and II• 2 minutes for Mode 6 and 8

The possible values are I, 2, 3 35 minutes.

c Grace time is the time from T4 to T5 during which the lights are being dimmed down from the current light level to thebackground level. By default this is 10 seconds for all modes.

Possible values are 0, I, 2, 3 25 seconds.

Prolong time is the time from T5 to T6 at which the background level is maintained at a fixed level. Modes have different prolongtimes. The following prolong times are the default values:

- . Infinite for Mode 5, 8 and 9 (meaning the lights are not switched off)

- Possible values for grace time are 0, I, 2, 3 150 and infinite.

0Retention time (T4 to T7) is a specific timer during which the active light situation at T2 is remembered. If the ActiLume WirelessDALI gen2 is in automatic mode (auto on /auto off) and the light level has been manually changed to a certain fixed level, this timer

— will be active. If the room becomes unoccupied, the above mentioned timers will sequentially start running and take their actionswhen needed. As soon as the hold time has expired and the lights start to dim down, the retention timer starts to run. For a certainperiod of time the ActiLume Wireless DALI gen2 will remember the last light level at timer position T2. To prevent that the personhas to re-override the light level time after time when entering the room again after (for example) being away for a meeting, theActiLume Wireless DALI gen2 will, during the retention timer, remember the light level and when the room is entered again, the

• ActiLume Wireless DALI gen2 will continue with its light level as if the room was not left unoccupied. The default setting of the- retention timer for all modes is 0, except for Mode 2, 4 where it is 15 minutes.0

Possible values for the retention timer are 0, 15, 30, 60, 90, 120, 150 and 180 minutes.C

Smart time is a period of time that extends the Hold time (T3 to T4) by several minutes if during Grace time (T4 to T5) presence- is detected. This extension is done only once. After the next T5 the smart timer will be switched off again. The default value for the

Smarttimer is 10 minutes in Mode I to Sand 12 to 15 and it isO forthe Modes 6 to II.I

This chapter explains for which application which Mode is best suited or which lighting design requires which Mode.In each subchapter the behavior after commissioning will be described.

To make it easier for the installer to recognize if the luminaire is functioning before any commissioning is done, the ActiLumeWireless DALI gen2 will have be in a so called out of the box behavior. This means, when the luminaire is powered, the lights willalways be switched on and the ActiLume will have a certain behavior (see also table below) so it is clear all is functioning. Thisbehavior is only active when the ActiLume Wireless DALI gen2 has not been placed into a network As soon as the ActiLumeWireless DALI gen2 has been placed into a network, the mode related behavior will be enabled and the out of the box behavior willbe switched off.

Each mode has a predeflned set of functions in the out of the box behavior.

3.2 Behavior after commissioning

As soon as the commissioning (creating a network) is started, the ActiLume Wireless DALI gen2 will leave its out of the boxbehavior and will start to behave as defined within the mode settings. How this behavior is will be explained in the next subchapters.A final, short, overview on all the modes is given at the end of this chapter.

3.2.1 Mode I - Cell office - auto on

This mode is defined as “less comfort more savings” in particular for a cell office. It has fully automated behavior meaning the lightswill be switched on when entering the room and switched off when the room is left unoccupied.When entering the room all lights will switch on and go to background level except for the luminaires that are in the same zone asthe luminaire that detected the presence, they will all go to DDR.

When the room is occupied the daylight dependent regulation (DDR) is active and will keep the light on the surface below thesensor on a constant level. The set point of the DDR is as such that on average the light level on the surface below the sensor will beapproximately 600 lux.If the room is vacated for 15 minutes, the lights will be switched off.

3.2.2 Mode 2 - Open office - auto on comfort mode

Mode 2 functions in principle in the same way as Mode I but with the difference that in Mode 2, the lights do not turn off after thehold time (15 minutes) but are set to a background light level. This is to avoid that in parts of an open plan office where no one ispresent people are not looking into a completely dark area, This will give more comfort but less savings (as in open plans). As soonas all ActiLume Wireless DALI gen2 report vacant, a prolong timer will be activated and after 15 minutes all lights will be switchedoff.

3.2.3 Mode 3 — Cell office - manual on

Mode 3 is very suitable for cell offices where maximum savings are required. To gain this the lights need to be switched on manually.This mode functions approximately the same as Mode I though in this mode the lights must always be switched on manually whenentering the room. When the last person has left the classroom, the lights will be turned off automatically after the hold time (15minutes) or can be switched off manually.

Manual switch on/offThe manual switch on function is to prevent that lights switch on when people are just passing or only shortly need to be in theroom to get something and the amount of light coming through the windows is sufficient for that. For this application an UID84IO orIRT8O5O remote control can be used.

Mode 5 functions just like Mode I except in this Mode the lights will never switch off and the setpoint for the DDR is set to a lowerlevel. This mode is very useful for areas where no people work but that is used as an area to get from working place to another likea corridor that should not be switched off.

The restroom application Mode is programmed as follows. When enough daylight enters the restroom, the amount of artificial lightwill be automatically reduced at the entrance. The amount of artificial light in the cabinets will stay at a predetermined level. Ifrequired, it is possible to change these settings at a later stage.

4 Occupancy sharing

The ActiLume Wireless DALI gen2 has the possibility to share its occupancy status with other ActiLume Wireless DALI gen2. The• ActiLume Wireless DALI gen2 will distribute its occupancy status across the network. Depending on how the network is build up it

will react in a slightly different way.

4.1 Without zonesC,

When the network has been created but zones are not made within the network, the occupancy detected by one ActiLume Wireless- DALI gen2 is distributed across the network without zone information in which case all ActiLume Wireless DALI gen2 will react in

the same way. The reaction will be for all ActiLume Wireless DALI gen2 as if it detected occupancy by itself.

4.2 With zones

When the network has been created and zones as well, the occupancy detected by one ActiLume Wireless DALI gen2 is distributedacross the network with zone information in which case all ActiLume Wireless DALI gen2 that belong to the same zone will react in

if the same way. All other ActiLume Wireless DALI gen2 that are in the same network but not in the same zone, will react on thesignal by going to their background level.

5 Creating a network

In order to have several luminaires working together, a network needs to be created. Adding and removing devices to and from thenetwork can sometimes be done in several ways and they will all be explained in the next chapters.

5.1 Start creating a network

To start creating a network all devices need to be connected to the mains and be switched on. To start creating a network one ofthe following remote controls can be used:

6 Changing default settings (commissioning)

During commissioning and configuring, every now and then, the lights willblink* as a confirmation that the programming sequence done is executed bythe ActiLume DALI gen2. If the lights were off when starting thiscommissioning or configuring of the ActiLume DALI gen2 system, the systemwill always end with all lights on, except when the mode in which theActiLume DALI gen2 is, is based on the “manual on / auto off’ principle. Inthat case the lights will always be turned off after the blinking.

Various default settings of the ActiLume DALI gen2 can be changed by meansof a remote control (IRT9O9O). In this chapter it will be explained how tomake changes using the remote control 1RT9090. 6.7 Walk testLI

It is very important to have sufficient coverage of the presence detection so people are detected and thelights will react on that in the correct way. The walk test function is used to check the coverage area ofthe movement detector. By pressing the button on the remote control, the ActiLume Wireless DALI gen2

j will flash the lamps once as an acknowledgment that the walk test mode has been entered. After this alllamps will go to lowest light level to indicate that it is ready to do the walk test.When entering the walk test mode, the PIR sensor either from the multi sensor or from the extensionsensor can execute the walk test. However, the response will be different. This is mainly due to the

. unique detection algorithm inside the extension sensor.

Behavior of the multi sensor:In the walk test mode the lighting is set to 1% and every time occupancy is detected, the light goes to100% for I second and returns to 1%. It can immediately detect the next movement.

If the coverage of the standard multi sensor LRI 1663 is insufficient, the coverage can be extended using anextension sensor. There are several types available that can be devided into 2 categories namely wired andwireless. For the wired types there is the luminaire based version (LRM8 119) and the ceiling mountedversion (LRM8 118). For the wireless types there is a ceiling sensor (LRM 1763), corridor sensor

- (LRM 1765), corner sensor (LRM 1770) and wall sensor (LRM 1775) available.-c• Behavior with extension sensor:

In the walk test mode the lighting is set to mm. (1%). Once movement is detected by the extensionsensor, the light goes up to 100% and will stay at that level for up to a maximum of 60 seconds, evenwhen there is no movement detected. Then it will return to mm. (1%) indicating it is ready for the nextmovement detection. These 60 seconds are due to the settings inside the extension sensor - this timeperiod cannot be adjusted.

In walk test mode, DDR, DDS DDO will be disabled.

Exiting the walk test mode:The ActiLume Wireless DALI gen2 will automatically recover from the walk test situation, and return intoactive state, 60 seconds after last movement detection of the complete system so including possibledetection by extension sensors. At this point the lights will flash twice.

6.8 100 hour burn-in

Many fluorescent lamp manufacturers state that prior to normal use, fluorescent lamps should not bedimmed. First these lamps should be “burned in” for 100 hours in order to maintain light quality andlifetime also at low dimming level of the fluorescent lamps. In order to enable this, the ActiLume WirelessDALI gen2 has the option to activate the 100 hours burn in feature. During these first 100 hours, allconnected lights are not dimmed. The ActiLume Wireless DALI gen2 uses a burning hour counter basedon the status of what is connected to the DALI port.

It is possible to enable and disable the 100 hour burn mode by means of the remote control. By defaultthe 100 hour burn mode is disabled.

To start the IOU hours burn in sequence, press the “100 h” button on the remote control followed bypressing the send button while pointing the remote to the related multi sensor.

If it is needed to stop and reset the timer, this can be done by sending the I OOh again as described aboveor by using the MultiOne2Controls software + interface or send a factory reset as described in Chapter6.6 - Resetting the ActiLume Wireless DALI gen2.Be aware that all other settings and changes that have been made will be reset to factory defaults whendoing this and re-commissioning is needed.

During this 100 hour burn in time, all devices connected to the Window/DALI I Port and Corridor/DALI2 Port will not be dimmed.Only for set point calibration and commissioning, the 100 hour burn mode will temporarily be overridden.

63 Set presence sensor sensitivity

Since PIR detection is based on moving temperature spots it is possible that a sensor seems to detect movement although thisdetection is of an air flow that has a different temperature compared to its surroundings. For example, an air conditioning outlet orabove/near a heater. This could lead to false triggering of the system. If this air flow triggers the sensor, it is possible to reducesensitivity of the PIR sensor. There are 2 possible situations namely high or low sensitivity.

This setting is on single ActiLume level.

With the following procedure the sensitivity to high sensitivity (default sensitivity) or low sensitivity.

1: Press “pir”

2: Press “1” for normal sensitiv[or “3” for low sensitivityor “off” to switch the PIR off

3: Point the front of the remoteto the multi sensorand press the green send button

If the PIR is switched off, it can also be switched back on again by selecting normal or low sensitivity.

7 Manual control

The ActiLume Wireless DALI gen2 is the perfect system to keep the light at a constant level without interference. If, however, thelight level needs to be changed, this can be done by using a Touch and Dim switch or by remote control, for example.

7.! Touch and Dim (Push button) control

The Touch and Dim functionality of the ActiLume Wireless DALI gen2 works in thesame way as it is implemented in many other Philips Lighting products. The “T and D”input is used for this application. The push button used must be of the ‘retractive pushto make” type, meaning the contact is closed when the push button is operated,otherwise the contact is open.

The usage of the Touch and Dim is very intuitive. When pushing the button the lightswill react immediately depending on their previous situation. In the table below the different sequences are given.

Always take care that the “T and D” connection is connected to the same phase as the L connection. If this is not respected then,when pushing the Touch and Dim button, the voltage going into the controller will be too high and this will adversely damage thecontroller.

‘ 7.3 Infrared (IR) control

There are different IR remote controls for different purposes. These lR remote controls can be categorized into two groups:

• IR remotes controllers for daily use. IR remotes controllers for (re-)programming the ActiLume Wireless DALI gen2 controller.

The following remotes are for (re-)programming the ActiLume Wireless DALI gen2

How to use these remotes is explained throughout this document.

7.3.1 Using the 1RT8030

The IRT8O3O is a 4 preset/scenes remote control unit and can be used for wall mounting or tabletop operation (wall holderincluded). The IRT8O3O can be used to select or program light presets (scenes) I 2, 3 or 4. The infrared group address can be set bymeans of 3 dipswitches on the unit itself. See chapter Error! Reference source not found. — “Error! Reference source not

° found.” for the exact location of the dipswitches and other information on the 1RT8030.

NoteIt is only possible to program Preset 1to a fixed level if DDR is disabled.

g Since this remote control (1RT8040) is also used for other control systems, a conversion from channels to groups has to be made.Selecting a group has the following meaning for the ActiLume Wireless DALI gen2:

Channel I = all GroupsChannel 2 = Group IChannel3Group2

. Channel 4 = Group 3Channel5Group4

For creating a preset, first the required group must be selected, and then the light level can be set for that particular group. By settingthe light level for each group required, store operation can be executed after which the preset can be re-called.

Step I: select the infrared channelGroup selection is achieved with the ‘Select Channel” key. A LED indicates the selected group. When the “Select Channel” key is

d momentarily pressed (less than 1/2 second) the LED shows the (last) selected channel. When the key is pressed continuously orrepeatedly, the next channel is selected. This action can be continued or repeated until the required channel has been selected. Theselection LED stays on for 5 seconds after last key release.

Step 2: off/down — on/up control‘. With the “Channel On/up” and “Channel Off/down” keys the selected group can be switched and/or dimmed up or down. During

the actual transmission of infrared signals, the LED flashes for verification of the selected channel. After transmission the LED isswitched off.

NotePreset 1 cannot be set to a fixed level because it activates DDR. If a fixed level needs tobe programmed, than first deactivate DDR by means of the MultiOne tool (see chapterError! Reference source not found. - Error! Reference source not found.).

7.3.2 Using the lRT8050

The 1RT8050 is suitable for wall mounting or tabletop operation.However, the infrared radiation pattern has been optimized for wall-mounted operation.The 1RT8050 can operate in two types of control Modes:

Group control (on/up — off/down)Scene control (also called preset control)

The control Mode can be set by means of 5 dipswitches on the unit itself.The infrared channel address can be set by means of another 3dipswitches on the unit itself.

7.3.3 Using the U1D8510

The U1D85 10 is in fact approximately the same remote control as the IRT8O5O with slightly reducedfunctionality. It is suitable for wall mounting or tabletop operation. However, the infrared radiation pattern hasbeen optimized for wall-mounted operation.

._ Although the ActiLume Wireless DALI gen2 is set to create a light level of 600 lux by default underneath the light sensor, this can beinsufficient or incorrect in some cases. If a different light level is measured than what is expected this is mostly due to the fact thatthe ActiLume Wireless DALI gen2 expects certain environment conditions like a reflection factor of 0.3 and a ceiling height of 3meter.If the light level is not what it is expected to be, the light level can be calibrated and set to a different level. The daylight depending

- regulation will use as of that point forward this new set point.. The reason for wanting a different light level can be:0

• The user doesn’t like the light level• A light level of 600 lux is not according to the design• Different environment than expected (different reflection factor)

This setting is always on a single ActiLume level.

8.1 Calibration methods6D0

There are 3 ways to calibrate the light level:-c

• Auto calibration• Calibration by using IR remote controls• Calibration by using Touch and Dim

8.1.1 Auto calibration

Press the service button on the LRI 1663 for 5 seconds: (3 — 7 seconds) and the ActiLume Wireless DALI gen2- will enter the automatic set point calibration mode.

• When releasing the button, any ladder or other items that will not be there during normal operationneed to be taken away

• The lights will be switched off• 10 seconds after the lights are switched off, the ActiLume Wireless DALI gen2 will read the light level• Lights will be set to 100% output

2 • 10 seconds after the lights are at 100%, the ActiLume Wireless DALI gen2 will read the light level• A calculation will be done and calibration set point will be set to 100% light output level — 0% light

output level• Lights will blinking twice to indicate the set point is stored

9 Built in requirements

9.1 Wiring inside the Iuminaire

The wiring inside a luminaire is of the same type as that used for connecting lamps to ballasts/drivers and for the mains connections.- The LRI 1663 multi sensor on the other hand has its own cable on one side attached to the sensor and on the other side a RJ 10

(4p4c) connector. This Rj 10 connector can be pushed/clicked into the ActiLume Wireless DALI gen2 and is in this simple wayconnected.

0- 9.2 Wiring outside the luminaire

In many cases the DALI line(s) have to be brought outside the luminaire in order to connect the DALI line to other luminaires or to6 a gateway of a BMS. Since the DALI line(s) have only basic insulation towards the mains, these cables should be treated as mains

cables and therefore must be mains rated cables to be used in combination with strain relief at the place where the DALI line(s)enter/leave the luminaire.

9.3 Mounting

The sensor and ActiLume Wireless DALI gen2 controller each have their own way of being mounted inside a luminaire. Thesedevices are not meant to be placed on the outside of a luminaire or being to be treated as independent devices.

93.1 SensorLRII663

The sensor can be mounted into a luminaire in different ways. The following options are the mostcommonly used ways of mounting the sensor IThe most simple way of mounting the sensor into the luminaire is by using a metal clip. The clip canbe mounted on the backside of the sensor and then it can be clipped onto the lamp.

There are 2 different clips available, one for TL-D (T8) lamps and one for TL5 (T5) lamps. The TL5version is called the LCA8002. The TLD version of the clip is called the LCA8003. Both types canbe ordered separately and are packed in boxes of 50

When a sensor is clipped on the lamp (or attached to optics) and the distance between sensor and lamp is less than 8cm, then thesensor should be located at the cold side of the lamp. The cold side of the lamp is the side where the wiring towards the ballast is thelongest.

In order to increase the front size of the sensor so it will fit better between the lamella, a ring is available that can be clicked onto thefront side of the sensor. The ring model number is LCA800 I/CO and can be ordered in boxes of 100 pieces.

A second ring/clip, called LCA8005, can also be used but is meant for mounting the sensor directly into the metal of the luminaire. Arectangular hole of 60 x 22mm must be made in the luminaire so the clip (including the sensor) can be put into the hole.

Another possibility is to use the latching rills on the back of the sensor. To use this way of mounting, 2 holes of 4 mm diameter haveto be drilled 20 mm apart. A third hole is needed for the sensor wire go through the material. The thickness of the material can beup to maximum of 0.7 mm.If the sensor is placed within the luminaire, a distance of at least 8 cm should be kept between sensor and sensor wiring and theLLwarm side of the lamp. The warm side of the lamp is the side where the wiring from the ballast to the lamp(s) is the shortest.

Another way of mounting the sensor is to punch a hole in the luminaire (e.g. in theinfill panel) and push the sensor from the inside into the rectangular hole so onlythe front part of the sensor will be visible on the outside of the luminaire. Alsohere, a distance of at least 8 cm should be kept between sensor and sensor wiringand the “warm’ side of the lamp. The warm side of the lamp is the side where thewiring from the ballast to the lamp(s) is the shortest.

9.3.2 Sensor cable

The sensor has a PVC-free 300V rated 4-core cable. One end is connected tothe sensor and on the other end an Rj IC (4p4c) connector is attached.

9.3.5 Wiring to and from the controller

The ActiLume Wireless DALI gen2 has WAGO 250 connectors and a RjI0 receptacle. The WAGO 250 is a connector that acceptsa wide range of wire diameters from 0.5 mm2 to 1.5 mm2 (16 ... 20 AWG) and a strip length of 8.5 ... 9.5 mm. This makes it easy tohave the ActiLume Wireless DALI gen2 fit into any luminaire without having to use special wiring. The RjlO receptacle connects andlocks the cable of the LRI 1663 multi sensor.
