Electrical circuitWhen the appliance does not work, check the electricalcircuit. If the thermal fuse or thermostat prove defective,the complete pump unit has to be replaced.

De-scalingIf the water system is nearly or less clogged by scalethen operate the coffeemaker a few times with vinegaror with a 10-15% solution of either vinegar-acid, citricacid or tartar-acid, into cold tap water.

Do not use other de-scaling agents as these may harmthe appliance.If this procedure does not restore the function, then switchoff the coffeemaker when the acid has passed throughduring appr. 3 min. Keep the appliance in this conditionovernight and continue/repeat the cleaning operation.After the de-scaling procedure, operate the coffeemakertwice with tap water in order to rinse away any residualsubstances.

Pump unit removalTo seperate the pump unit (item 16) from the hot-plateunit (item 14), the two fixing screws have to be loosenedfirstly. Next bend the plastic hot-plate ring outwards byapplying pressure at place A. Then the pump unit can belifted out easily.

Removal gauge unit (item 5-7)Remove the bottom plate and the switch unit. Undo thesnap connection at place B by means of a simplescrewdriver. Now the two housing parts can be pulledapart approx. 1 cm and then the gauge can be takenout easily.
