rising levels of carbon dioxide and other heat-trapping gases in the atmosphere have warmed the Earth and are causing wide-ranging impacts, including rising sea levels; melting snow and ice; more extreme heat events, fires and drought; and more extreme storms, rainfall and floods. Scientists project that these trends will continue and in some cases accelerate, posing significant risks to human health, our forests, agriculture, freshwater supplies, coastlines, and other natural resources that are vital to Washington states economy, environment, and our quality of life.2

How much trouble are we in?

Humans are increasingly influencing the climate and the earth's temperature by burning fossil fuels, cutting down rainforests and farming livestock.This adds enormous amounts of greenhouse gases to those naturally occurring in the atmosphere, increasing the greenhouse effect and global warming.How much is the Earth Warming?Well, the heat from human emissions is roughly equal to 400,000 Hiroshima atomic bombs exploding across the planet every single dayHow mush trouble are we in?Future generations are in big trouble. But for now it will continue to get warmer and storms will grow more intense, with longer periods of drought in between.

It is essential that the Sustainable Forest Management Act, which will clearly delineate protected and productive forests, be passed and enacted into law. Complementing this, the country should likewise pursue alternative tenurial arrangements for identified productive forest areas such as usufruct.There is a need to formulate policies/programs that would strengthen national government and the resilience of local government units (LGUs) to address issues on climate changes. There is also a need to strengthen or reform existing laws involving land-use and related laws, such as the Building Code, to make the countrys infrastructure disaster-resilient. In schools, disaster mitigation and preparedness must be included in the educational curriculum.There is likewise a need to develop financing schemes to ensure sustainable financing for climate change projects, such as investing on a national carbon trading scheme, to benefit the LGUs by encouraging them to invest in green businesses, such as provincial biomass plants and increasing energy efficiency.

According to currently Vice President of the Philippines Jejomar Binay

Pass Sustainable Forest Management Bill; pursue alternative tenurial arrangements for productive forest areasFormulate policies that would enable the national government and the local governments to deal better with the effects climate changeAmend land-use and related laws to make infrastructure disaster resilientFinance climate change projects and implement flood-control programsFlood Management Master Plan for Metro Manila and Surrounding Areas,

sustainable forest management is legislation that establishes appropriate and reliable forms of forest tenure, including various forms of forest ownership and usage rights. Such aims of this law isabolishing unnecessary forest regulations that prevent private landowners from planting and harvesting trees on part or all of their land; introducing provisions that facilitate the utilization of trees in combination with agricultural crops and promote efficient agroforestry practices;

providing land-use agreements and land leases that permit the practice of private forestry on public land;

encouraging sustainable private forest management while leaving sufficient flexibility for land users and landowners.

2. Yes he can do so, i assume that the policies is to prevent the effect of cc like maybe a program to reduce reuse and recycle, or teaching our young fellow students to plant their own trees, or maybe make the buildings in metro manila earthquake proof or whatsoever, if binay got the position and really amend policiesbinay can fund it, but are we really sure that the funds for a certain policy can make it to its proper place, it can happen, but with a proper attitude of the officials and people. As we all know for today, we are currently paying an additional 2 php for the plastic in every shop in qc. Whats that for? It is to used for the cleaning for our clugged drainage systems or a to get a better one, or maybe to clean the ilog pasig or whatsoever, but u people, u guys, can we see the effect? Or do we feel it? I tried finding an update about the cleanup operation in pasig river but i cant find any, i even tried looking a govt site prrc, pasig river rehab center, but all i found was the picture of noy noy in the front page and thats it, no update.

3. U know people, today in metro manila, the engineers in qc cuty hall approving the building permits in local city are fixers. They pay those engineers and if u give them a higher rate they will not even look at ur land, where it is located or whatsoever. So lets see if binay will handle this responsiblyAnd since were talking about land use. Lets see how binay can handle informal settlers in the metro...

4. There is already an existing flood plan: Flood Management Master Plan for Metro Manila and Surrounding Areas, which is envisioned to solve the Metro Manila flooding problem. However, it appears that the release of the funds for the individual projects and the implementation of the 11 identified flood-control projects have been painstakingly slow. . A Binay presidency will ensure the implementation of these essential infrastructure projects.

We will highlight the agenda if its Red its more of preventing the real climate change. More of helping the real environment.If its blue its more of preventing the effect of climate change. Its more of what to do to make the effect of climate change better.If the color does not change it means it can do both I just made this up if you disagree u can do so.

Binay is our currently vp.... And what he plans is great for economy.. But why did he not have done it for the past 6 yrs of being a vp. And for atleast the remaining yrs of his term... If he is really willing to do something for our nation he could have done it already i mean he had the 6 yrs chance to do everything..on the report we could see his hittingvaquino administration. He could have woken the eyes of noy noy and be insisted to the president his plans and how to make this country better. U guys vote wisely.

14,000 families still live in danger zones identified by the government. Some have built their homes on top of major canals, contributing to the flooding problems in the country's capital. 7

The Philippine environmental policy is sustainable development. This can be amended to make climate change adaptation measures to be institutionalized apart from the climate change law.We cannot conserve and protect what we do not use. Much of our food comes from the environment.Therefore strict implementation of our environmental and land use laws is vital. Food crop areas should be maintained.A climate adaptation fund must be developed per region to enable adaptation in agriculture and food production, which is vulnerable to climate change.Climate-smart technologies will be implemented, such as rainwater impoundment and collection regulations.While the Philippines is not a significant contributor to greenhouse gases, we still need to pursue a policy that will prevent it from being one even as we industrialize.

Institutionalize climate change adaptation measuresStrictly implement environmental and land-use lawsProvide climate adaptation fund for agriculture in the regionsAdopt smart technology such as rainwater collection and impoundmentFormulate policy that would prevent the Philippines from becoming a significant greenhouse gas emitter even as it industrializes

So what he just said is the main explanation of his plans.2. So what duterte will try to do is to implement a strict policy of proper land use. Sampleu have a land in balingasa, whether u want to build a house, a building, a hospital or probably an agricultural land or worst case scenario, u want to build a mining company in your land in balingasa. So duterte will be on the watch for the land use policy. They have the same idea with binay about land use.

3. Maybe this plan is the govt will provide fertilizers or anything for our poor farmers or any one who contributes to agriculture... Maybe to help plants to adapt in climate change... Maybe duterte wants to have a mango season during rainy seasons we dont know haha... But do u guys think it can help our economy, remember that our taxes our on it?

4. . Rainwater collection and impoundments. Based on my research , sample it rains it floods in espana. Their is drainage in the bottom of street and the rainwater goes their and after flooding they will let water out for next use. It can help to prevent floods

5. Maybe this policies will limit manufacturing companies from any below the belt anti environment doings they have. And its also a good way to preserve our environment....9

We will strongly push for the signing of the Paris Agreement underthe United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change onApril 22, 2016. Likewise, we will encourage lobbying efforts for itsimmediate ratification since it needs 55 State Parties to enter intoforce.The success of the Paris Conference is most beneficial to high riskcountries like ours, through provision of technical and financialassistance to enhance our adaptive capacity, strengthen resilienceand reduce vulnerabilities to climate change.

The Peoples Survival Fund (PSF), created by Republic Act No. 10174 and initiallyamounting to P1 billion, can be accessed by LGUs and accredited local/community organizations forclimate change adaptation programs and projects to study andimplement short- and long-term measures that will mitigate theimpacts of climate change on residents.We will heighten the awareness campaign on the utilization ofthe PSF;Ensure transparency mechanisms in the selection of proposalssubmitted by LGUs or local/community organizations; andEstablish a strict monitoring mechanism to ensure that the fundis actually used for climate change adaptation projects.

Ratify the Paris AgreementAssist local governments to integrate disaster risk reduction plans into their development programsEncourage use of the Peoples Survival FundAccelerate exploration and development of renewable energy sourcesMitigate water shortage and food insecurity in Mindanao through water conservation, innovative food crop production and infrastructure development

1. At the Paris climate conference (COP21) in December 2015, 195 countries adopted the first-ever universal, legally binding global climate deal.The agreement sets out a global action plan to put the world on track to avoid dangerous climate change by limiting global warming to well below 2C.The agreement is due to enter into force in 2020.

3. The PSF mentioned in the voice record a while ago, explaned a while ago

4. Santiago mentioned in her into speech yesterday, that the phil is reach in natural and human resources and yet we are one of the poorest countries. But if we explore more, maybe wed find that phil have more oils that can handle phil users, or anything under our territory. But we also have to know that we might destroy the place or second we are concerned about the exploration is we dont have machines....

5. Mindanao, do u think if ncr was in mindanao there would be a crisis such as electricity, water and maybe food.i think that maybe if duterte would win the upcoming election he will handle mindanao better. Its his teritory he knows the place better thatn the other contenders. Maybe he have the gut to defend it from different islamic groups who wants mindanao..

I am for the protection of our environment and I am committed to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases and to mitigate the effects of climate change.

As our economy develops, we need to harness energy sources that are available to us for as long we do it in strict compliance with the highest standards of safety for communities and the environment. Definitely, we will require more energy to fuel the development of important sectors such as manufacturing, which can generate stable, reliable and long-term sources of income for Filipinos.

Open to exploring sources of renewable energy to diversify the Philippines energy mix. But until all these sources of alternative energy can efficiently and effectively sustain the growing economy, the country will have to rely on COA

1. . Mar have the same issue with grace so i already explained it.15

There is an urgent need to streamline climate change and disaster risk governance through institutional change, so as to clarify the mandate and accountability of government agencies. As president, I will:Lead the creation of an independent disaster risk reduction and management (DRRM) agency to enhance the capacity of government and communities to prevent, mitigate, prepare for, respond to and recover from the impact of disasters;Appoint a Cabinet-level official as head of the independent DRRM agency to ensure that he or she has the requisite authority to orchestrate the different actors, policies and programs involved in DRRM;Interface DRRM implementation with the private finance sector, particularly the insurance industry, to enable a functional risk financing mechanism for disasters;Invest in community-based programs on climate change adaptation and disaster preparedness programs; andLaunch citizen-led hazard mapping and risk reduction efforts.

Establish an independent disaster agency to help the government and the communities to improve their preparedness for and response to disastersAppoint Cabinet-level official to head the independent disaster agencyInvolve private sector, particularly the insurance industry, in setting up a financing system for disastersLaunch citizen-led hazard mapping and risk reduction efforts

Its interesting that that one group will handle all the needs to help our country's know what to do when a typhoon or earthquake or other natural disaster hit phil. We know what to do, we are prepared. And maybe this suggestion of miriam will also include the a group to work with drainage system, group to work on to check how strong the establishments notbstrong its tibay. Or group to check manufacturing companies if they are not doing anything harm to environment or maybe mining companies if the place is depleted did they restored it or what so ever.

2. Miriam iz the most anti corrupt official i have ever encountered. Do we think that we can sleep at night rest assured our taxes are going to those pro environment with action groups? I can. The way how miriam always end up being high blood in senate just babbling about corrupt officials. She will not risk her high blood if she doesnt have the determination to abolish all corrupt officials i think.

3. Involve private sectors. We in our selves must have the defense urself againt such disaster so maybe, this will help them better to be prepared

Unfortunately I didnt find any interview from the candidates about climate change. I found video of mayor duterte on climate change but he was speaking in Davao language, 20

If its red it means other candidate did not suggest it. Only the owner of the red colored font. If its not the other pair color have the same ideas2 & 5 green they have the same idea by making a policy to somehow make the pollution or give a better importance to climate change 3 & 2 violet they have the same idea about making a policy to know the land use of a certain owner. 4 & 1 greenthey have the same intent to explore more of our own natural resources2, 3& 4 blue, somehow we can assume that they all want the community, the people to know where to go, wht to do when a unfortunate disaster cameFinally 4 & 4 blue we canassume that they want an improvement in the drainage or to prevent flood21
