UNION TRADE ACCAM TO COLUMBUS, JONES TO NASHVILLE; SIGN NGALINAThe Union announced three transactions this week, first trading Da-vid Accam to Columbus for $500,000 in total allocation money and an international roster spot ... the club then signed forward Michee Ngalina from Bethlehem Steel FC to a first team contract ... finally, the Union an-nounced a season-long loan of Derrick Jones to Nashville SC (USL) as well as a future trade of the midfielder's MLS rights to Nashville for $175,000 in allocation money.

ILSINHO THE SUPER SUBUnion midfielder Ilsinho recorded the game-winning goal last Saturday vs. New England as a substitute ... for the season, Ilsinho has been one of the league's most productive subs ... as of May 9, 2019, as a sub and among all league subs, the Brazilian ranks: first in assists (3), first in ball recoveries (17), second in touches (132), second in attempted passes (86), tied for sixth in chances created (4) and tied for ninth in goals (1).

UNION SMASH NEW ENGLAND FOR FIFTH STRAIGHT HOME WIN, MAIN-TAIN FIRST PLACE IN EASTLast weekend's win over the Revolution marked the first time the Union have ever won consecutive games at home over the course of a single season … previously, the team had won five straight at home at the end of the 2015 season, overlapping into the start of 2016 ... the club also matched the 2011 version of the club for the best start in team history … both the 2019 Union and 2011 Union were 6-3-2 after 11 matches and in first place.

UNION SET MULTIPLE RECORDS IN WIN OVER REVSThe Union’s six goals against New England tied the all-time team record for most goals in a game, matching an effort done twice previously (5/28/11 at TOR, 10/22/17 vs. ORL) … the Union’s five goals in the second 45 minutes sets a new team record for most tallies in a single half, sur-passing the club’s four goals scored on two occasions (10/22/17 vs. ORL; 1st half, 10/6/18 vs. MIN; 1st half) ... with five different players scoring goals (Jack Elliott, Ilsinho, Sergio Santos, Kacper Przybylko, David Accam), the Union also set an all-time club record for most individual goal-scorers in a single game, surpassing the record of four, last done on 10/6/18 vs. Minnesota (Cory Burke, Alejandro Bedoya, Fafa Picault, Ilsinho) ... the Union’s 15 shots on target also were a new club record, breaking the pre-vious mark of 13 from the club’s inaugural season, set on June 27, 2010 vs. Seattle … the Union also notched 13 shots on goal in the second half alone, again breaking a previous record of nine, set in that same match vs. Seattle in the second half.

Philadelphia Union Head Coach Jim Curtin (speaking on Wednes-day, May 8)

"Before I reflect on last week, I just want to say a thank you to David Accam for everything that he did for the club. Again sometimes situ-ations benefit both parties and I think this is one of those. Obviously David contributed to a lot of year in the time that he was here, this part of the business of difficult part but at the same time I think this is a situation that is best for both sides, so I do want to say thank you to David for his professionalism and all he contributed to the club.

"Reflecting back on last week, a very important week in a lot of ways for the club to move up the table; difficult test playing three games in a week but I thought that the group responded really well with that in their fitness level and our ability to push in all three games. We showed our fitness and strength in the second half of games. Took some punches, adjusted and I think that the guys deserve a lot of cred-it for taking the points that they did during the course of the week.

"No time to feel satisfied or happy or complete, we have a very difficult game against Toronto. For me and points per game, the best team in the Eastern Conference and it will be a difficult matchup for us. We feel like they didn’t get our best punch in week one but we know that with the quality that they have on the field , the talent that they have in their building, it will be a real tough test for us. They are playing as well as anyone in the league right now and a real top team, we’ll have to be at our very best to get points in Toronto."
