My blog update: I have found that one needs to become familiar with all the ins and outs of using keywords and popular search engines such as Google to make your presence known to others. My blog site is located at http://jimgrooms.wordpress.com/.

In order to have my blog site show up on the search engine’s results (Indexed) I needed to find out more information on search engines. In my research I found “How to Get Your Website Indexed by Google”, http://www.wikihow.com/Get-Your-Website-Indexed-by-Google.

This site is very informative and provides a step-by-step approach to get your site indexed by Google. It boils down to using a Site Map that contains all of your site page URL’s in the form of an XML document. This document is easy to create and the referenced site shows you how.

I have mentioned my site to some of my associates at work, but I haven’t had anyone post a comment. In order to overcome this dilemma, I have posted my blog site on LinkedIn with an open invitation for any of my colleagues to pay a visit and leave a post.

I have created this presentation with Microsoft® PowerPoint. I have also found the capability within PowerPoint itself to make this presentation available on the Internet.

In order for this presentation to work properly, the presenter needs to set a time. After each invitee accesses the site, the presenter will begin the slide show in real-time. Due to our class schedule and inability to coordinate a time that is mutually agreeable, I have included the instructions (see the next slide), but will post this presentation on my blog site.

Not too many people are aware that you can perform a “Save and Send” function and have their work posted on the web. It is very simple to do – Click on the File Tab, select the “Save and Send” option and then Pick “Broadcast Slide Show”, then the link to your presentation site will be provided. Use this link to allow others to view your presentation. There is nothing else you have to do.
