There is a welcome turn of events: the fifthedition will take place during the PharmaWeek, from 13 to 15 April 2016, alongsideNuce, Food-Ing and Cosmofarma. In thismanner, the entire supply chain for thepharmaceutical world will converge into aunified rendezvous

Starting with this edition, during the PharmaWeek, the Healthcare Industry Association(ASIS) will organise at BolognaFiere a newmeeting focusing innovation in this sector,thereby contributing to enrich the program of the event even further.

The 350 exhibitors of the last edition, just under 40% of them from foreigncountries, were unanimous in recognising the selectivity and the efficacy of the event,in terms of business opportunities, relations and visibility.

At Pharmintech you will find all the peoplethat count in the international businesscommunity. And those who attend have decision-makingpower: this means being able to do new business and lay the foundations for long-term relationships, generating fresh opportunities with each new edition.

Pharmintech has been traditionally flanked by a rich program of internationalmeetings, seminars and workshops that promote valuable relationshipsbetween the academic world and theindustrial world.

The international Drug Anti-CounterfeitingConference: a worldwide network ofcollaboration and improvement, establishedwith ISPE Italy Affiliate and PDA ItalyChapter in April 2013, was followed in 2015by the conference on Serialization andGoods Distribution Practices: regulatoryimpacts, opportunities and critical issues forpharmaceuticals manufacturers anddistribution chains. A synthesis of thethemes addressed will be made in 2016,during the Pharmintech opening period,when the opportunities and criticalitiesassociated with serialization and GDP willbe examined by all the players involved inthe supply chain, from the manufacturers tothe pharmacies.

The task of examining specific themes moreclosely is entrusted to PharmintechObservatory, a jewel in the crown for thesector, established with the support of themost authoritative pharmaceuticalassociations, and a source of high-qualityinformation.

Besides the conference, ad hoc displaysections will address the issue ofpharmaceuticals counterfeiting, which isbeing discussed in many quarters. The proposals formulated by the exhibitors will be showcased.

Making the production systems moreintelligent and more effective, with easy toplan management and maintenancemodalities, is one of the objectives envisagedfor the factories of the future (IndustryProject 4.0). In the pharmaceutical sector, this can only be achieved by drawing on an enormousquantity of data, which the companies muststore for many years: at Pharmintech 2016,this issue will be addressed by exploring thenumerous solutions developed to ensure data security and traceability.

Starting 2016, a new “Pharma Waste” sectionwill present solutions for the managementand disposal of pharmaceutical waste. In 2016, the Union of Italian Manufacturers of Packaging Machinery (UCIMA) willbecome an organising partner of the event.Besides enriching the program of theconferences, UCIMA brings with it theinvolvement of the packaging machines and materials sector.
