Administra on has released 2014sta s cs prepared by its Post-market Surveillance Branch.

The report includes a briefoverview on adverse eventrepor ng and processing, expertadvisory commi ees, productvigilance and ‘safety throughrepor ng’ online learning modulesfor health professionals.

In 2014 the TGA received about16,500 reports of adverse events,with the majority (51%) made byproduct sponsors.

13% came from hospitals andhospital pharmacists and 8% werevia community pharmacists.

Just 5% came from GPs and 3% ofadverse event reports were directlyfrom consumers, while 3% camefrom other sources.
