    The Post Graduate Programme in Public Policy and Management (PGPPM) is one of the ve longduration programmes offered by IIMB. PGPPM was offered in 2001 by the Centre for Public Policyat IIMB. The Centre for Public Policy (CPP) was created in 2000 through a partnership between theDepartment of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Government of India, the United Nations DevelopmentProgramme (UNDP), and IIM Bangalore.

    PROGRAMME FEATURES

    The Post Graduate Programme in Public Policy and Management (PGPPM) helps programparticipants understand forces that shape the domestic and international environment forpublic policy.

    The pedagogy involves candidates from the government and the private sector interacting,exchanging and learning in one classroom.

    It helps them develop leadership skills, decision-making skills and communication skills.

    PROGRAMME STRUCTURE

    The Post Graduate Programme in Public Policy and Management is a one-year post graduateprogramme which begins in the month of April and ends in March.

    It offers courses in public policy and general management. Participants can choose from a widerange of electives. They can also take electives from other long duration programmesoffered at IIMB.

    The participants will be writing a Comprehensive Policy Memo, which will help them to specializein a chosen area in public policy.

    THE INSTITUTE The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) believesin building leaders through holistic, transformative andinnovative education. IIMB is European Quality Improvement

    System (EQUIS) accredited. The accreditation is anindication that the recognized institution satis es internationalstandards. It has partnerships with 114 Universities globally,including Harvard Publishing and Ivey School of Business.

    IIMB received the prestigious Obama-Singh 21st CenturyKnowledge Award 2013. This initiative is aimed atstrengthening collaborations and building partnershipsbetween American and Indian institutions of higher educationin priority elds.

    IIMBs research centers include the Centre for Public Policy

    (CPP), The Nadathur S Raghavan Centre for EntrepreneurialLearning (NSR-CEL), the Centre for Financial Markets &Risk Management (CFMRM), the Centre for CorporateGovernance & Citizenship (CCGC), the Centre for Software& IT Management (CSIM), the Centre for Supply ChainManagement (CSCM), and the Centre for Enterprise ResourcePlanning (CERP).

    INTERNATIONAL EXPOSURE As a part of the course, Government-sponsored programme

    participants will be doing a core international module onpublic policy at the Maxwell School of Citizenship andPublic Affairs, Syracuse University, USA.

    Programme participants who do not opt for the internationalmodule can take an additional course or sign up for additional

    projects at IIMB. They can also opt for an internship with anorganization during this term.

    FOR WHOMGovernment sponsored participantsAll India Services, Central Service-organised & non-organised,technical & non-technical, faculty members of StateAdministrative Training Institutes and ofcers of the StateCivil Services (SCS) & Non-State Civil Services and PSUswith a minimum of ve years Group A service or equivalent

    xperience. They must be sponsored by the Department ofersonnel and Training (DoPT), GoI, or their respective stater central ministries, departments, cadres or the PSU.

    Non-Government participants dividuals from businesses, NGOs, international agencies,d infrastructural, social, CSR, consulting and servicectors. Eligibility criteria include graduation in any disciplineth ideally 5 years of work experience and valid CAT/GMAT/ E scores.

    SELECTION PROCESSSelection of Non-Governmentparticipants is based on the followingcriteria:

    Academic background

    CAT 2014/GMAT or GRE scoresbetween Dec.1, 2011 and Jan. 31, 2015.

    Work experience Interest in public systems and/or NGOactivities

    The selected candidates will be interviewedin Delhi/Bangalore/Kolkatta. They will berequired to do a case analysis on the day ofthe interview.

    Interviews for overseas candidates will beon Skype/video conference at a mutuallyconvenient date and time.

    Government-sponsored participants: They have to apply through the Department ofPersonnel and Training (DoPT), Governmentof India (GOI), or through their respectiveemployers. They will be required to do a caseanalysis at the time of interview.

    ACCOMODATIONPGPPM participants are provided accommodation oncampus on sharing basis. The housing units are furnishedto ful l basic needs. Family accommodation is provided

    at an additional fee of `

    125000 to Non-Governmentparticipants.

    COURSE FEE The Government pays the programme fee, including theinternational module fee, for its sponsored candidates.

    The Programme fee for Non-government participants is ` 975000. It includes tuition fee, books/course material,library services, computer facilities, shared accommodation,and membership fee to the alumni association. Theinternational module is optional and nanced by theprogramme participant.

    PLACEMENTSCareer counseling and placement assistance areprovided to Non-Government participants.
