INSTRUCTIONS

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the Entrance Test 2011, for admission to the Post-Graduate Degree programmes in the teaching departments of the University of Kerala. Appearance at the Entrance Test is a MUST for all those who are desirous of seeking admission to the PG courses in the University Teaching Departments. Admission to the PG Programmes will be on the basis of the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and the Common Entrance Test, in the ratio 50:50. There will be no re-valuation of Entrance Examination answer scripts. Eligibility Bachelor’s degree with the required minimum as specified in the concerned subject (see overleaf). Relaxation of marks upto 5% will be given to SC/ST candidates. Students who have appeared or are appearing for their qualifying examination may also apply, provided they fulfill the eligibility criteria, at the time of admission. Application Form: Application form can be downloaded from the following University’s website: www.keralauniversity.ac.in Registration Fees: A registration fee of Rs.260/- (Rs.135/- for SC/ST candidates) has been prescribed. However if a candidate appears for admission for more than one P.G. Programme for the Entrance Test Rs.50/- (Rs.25/- for SC/ST) may be added for each additional subject applied for. The Registration Fee in the form of DD/University Chalan should be attached with Form-A. Mode of Remittance: Remittance at the University of Kerala Cash Counter Chalan / Demand Draft drawn on SBT/SBI/District Co-operative Bank in favour of the Finance Officer, University of Kerala, payable at Trivandrum. In case of DD Registration Fee is Rs.280/-

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORM

There will be two parts in the application form. ‘Form A’ – Application for Entrance Test for P.G.

Admissions in the departments in University of Kerala. Form – B – Application for admission to

Department of ______ (Name of subject) for admission to MA/M.Sc/M.Com/MCJ/LLM/

MLISc./M.Ed/MSW etc. Additional Xerox copies of Form B has to be used separately when applying for

more than one subject provided they had remitted an additional fee of Rs.50/- for each additional subject

applied. (If DD Rs.70/-)

FORM-A :- Filled in Application Form –A along with the Demand Draft /Chalan, the

Hall ticket portion and a self addressed stamped cover for Rs.5/- alone should be sent addressed to

Request for refund of registration fee will not be entertained. Please note that if the application is found to be incorrect or incomplete in any respect an amount of Rs.50/- will be charged as handling charges.

PATTERN AND MEDIUM OF EXAMINATION

Test is of two hours duration and has two parts. The first part is objective type consisting of 50 multiple choice questions to be answered in 1 hour and the second part consists of 15 short answer

questions, out of which, 10 are to be answered in the remaining 1 hour. The question will be at the level of the qualifying Bachelor’s Degree Course. Medium of the examination is English, except for languages.

CENTRE OF EXAMINATION: Test will be conducted at Thiruvananthapuram only.

PROPOSED DATE OF EXAMINATION: From 28.05.2011

VENUE & TIME TABLE OF EXAMINATION will be intimated later along with the Hall Ticket.

PREPARATION OF RANK LIST

The rank list for P.G. Course will be prepared by giving weightage for marks secured in the Entrance

Examination and the marks secured in the concerned subjects at the degree level. Bonus marks for

NCC, NSS etc. will be as per existing norms.

RESULTS OF ENTRANCE EXAMINATION

The marks scored in the Entrance Examination will be published in the University Web site

ADMISSION MEMO (SELECTION MEMO)

Will be sent to selected candidates from the concerned departments after preparing the rank list.

FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS TO BE PRODUCED ONLY AT THE TIME OF ADMISSION.

1) Admit Card (Hall Ticket) of Entrance Examination 2) SSLC and relevant School Records to prove date of birth

3) Original marklists and certificates of qualifying examination.

4) Transfer Certificate and Conduct Certificate from the Institution last attended.

5) Eligibility Certificate from University of Kerala in respect of students who passed their

qualifying examination from Universities/Boards/Outside University of Kerala.

6) Any other documents suggested by the department.
