The challenging nature of veterinary medicine, love to animalsand the desire to solve sometimes mysterious outcomes ofdiseases what inspired me to follow this profession nineteenyears ago and the same reasons keep me sane and functionaltoday.Back in 1995 when I arrived to this country of opportunity Ihad to start all over again. The reason of my arrival to the newbeginning … as usually it happens in the movies – falling inlove and following that person with all your heart andexistence. Since the day of my arrival until this day we havelived together and every single decision has been made withher help. Today we are still together and not only at home butat work as well.Thinking back I would never even imagine working with mywife at the same place. This always has been a subject of

debates for ages – how can one survive working with her or his spouse? What do youdo all day long and what do you talk about after work? How can you have the sameperson with you at work all day long then at home… so on and so forth. Well, if you dowhat you love and you do it with who you love – nothing will stop you and nothingwill seem impossible. We both took over the Montgomery Village Veterinary Center back in December of2010 and since then we have been growing slowly. We took over the hospital that haddoctor on staff only two days in a week, was run mostly by family members, wasreferring every emergency out to a different hospital, and was open only from eight tofive. Every single part of this structure was against our philosophy of providing anexceptional care.Montgomery Village Veterinary Center today is doing almost the impossible with asingle doctor. We are open every single day with a doctor being on call 24 hours a day365 days a year. We are open with a staff that can handle every emergency and routinevisit 24 hours a day with most of specialty doctors visiting our facility on as neededbasis. Last but not least, we provide overnight care as well if needed. This is how wepicture the care for pets these days should be. At the same time we employ number ofemployees providing jobs and supporting the community as much as possible. As any other company we have our challenges – finding a qualified groomer has beenour main difficulty from day one. We have had several groomers in the past but at thistime that is our main weakness. However, this is not where we wish to stop. Our long term goals have no limits.Increasing number of employees and doctors will be a necessary step very soon. Ourultimate goal is to increase the size of our hospital and add a wonderful expansion forour guests in need of hoteling. Please don`t be surprised if one day your petexperiences a stay with us equivalent to a five star hotel services. The biggest question facing me at that time: doI try to do what I always wanted from thebottom of my heart or should I take the easyway out and do what will pay better. Theformer required commitment and would noteven require to learn the English language. atthe same time calculating how old my childrenwill be if I decide to follow a carrier thatrequires 8 years of schooling.
