Pestana Tropico’s restaurant is one of the best in Praia and it is renowned for its desserts. The hotel also has a really nice lobby bar which provided us with much needed refreshment after a day of sightseeing.

The recently renovated Pestana Tropico is located on a promontory overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and is known for being a very comfortable hotel along with a restaurant renowned as one of the best anywhere in Cape Verde.

The hotel is set in a residential area of Praia, the capital of Cape Verde and the largest town in the archipelago, and is flanked by the famous dark sand Prainha beach, popular with the locals for both relaxing and playing sport. Nearby, just a ride up the hill, is the heart of the old city with its colourful colonial architecture, bustling squares and vibrant markets.

Set on two floors, all rooms are sea or pool facing and decorated in a contemporary style that reflects the hotel’s origins in Portugal.
