• Over the next week keep a food diary, using the template, logging all the food and drink you have.
Maintaining a balanced diet

Game• Diet Top trumps
Task: The Top trump cards have a picture on one side and the nutritional information on the other.
I will call out an essential food group and you have to choose a food group which is a good source of that group. You turn the card over to your partner/group. The person with the highest value wins.
Task
• Using a whole page in your book make a copy of the food wheel of the food groups, on page 50.
Dietary deficiencies
• Malnutrition- physical weakness resulting from insufficient food or unbalanced diet
• Obesity- extreme overweight, causing health problems
• Eating disorders e.g. Anorexia- related to a fear of gaining weight, self starvation and distorted body image.
Obese people should sue Macdonalds.
The NHS should not treat people with obesity-related
illnesses.
Foods high in fat should be banned from schools.
There should be health warnings on food high in fat,
like you get on cigarette packets.
