When she’s not spending time knitting, on her computer or reading e-books, she appreciates the convenience of the residence bus for doing errands or taking in the theatre. Her one wish?

‘So Dina, you have had many challenges to cope with, how have you done so? What about you helped you the most to overcome your challenges in the past?’ Tammy asked.

Dina’s positive attributes had supported her throughout her life. Dina had a realistic attitude she didn’t exaggerate things and didn’t minimize things. She could be relied on to finish what she started and keep a commitment. This would be the basis of her work with herself. No one had ever asked her about her positive qualities. Each person has unique qualities they unconsciously rely on in times of trouble. Often this is such a natural response: it ’s just ‘us’. We don’t understand why it is special or matters.

H y p n o s i s , explained Tammy, is a natural process whereby the client becomes absorbed in the process of self-connection, self-discovery and recovery. Just like being in a good book. You become part of your own story. Visualizing your own goals in real time. Since it is you, Dina, about you it becomes easy to retain the feelings and the behaviors that are required to make the change you want to see.

Further, hypnosis is a relaxing gentle conversation focusing you, Dina, to relax and look within yourself physically. Then

noticing areas of physical tension and releasing them allows the emotional, brain area to also relax. It starts with you, Dina, become aware of your own breathing. Incrementally, then you begin to notice that your breath slows and each muscle, and bodily organ relaxes, releases tension.

In this state of relaxation, which allows the mind to wander while listening to your goals expressed in emotionally compelling language changes become more believable; you become the change you want to be.

Metaphors and stories are used to help make the

goals more clear and acceptable to ones subconscious m i n d c r e a t i n g imager y that is believable. It is easy to see oneself in the story.

Dina was curious to see how and if she would find it easy

to relax. Rarely taking time to just ‘stop’, this was a new experience.

Some people want to hold on to a ‘hear’ every word being spoken while relaxing and others may or may not care if the remember each word afterwards whichever, way is most comfortable to you, Dina, is fine.

! !Caution: Shopping for Pesach

Over the next few weeks, consumers will flock to Kosher Supermarkets and their Pesach aisles to do their annual Pesach shopping. As a community, we will literally spend millions of dollars on Pesach shopping in the GTA. At COR, we encourage kosher consumers to do their shopping at COR certified supermarkets and retailers with supervised aisles, if possible (we of course realize that that’s not always possible). These Supermarkets and retailers are “kosher conscious” and are monitored by COR mashgichim, who work hard alongside proprietors and store managers to ensure that a Kosher for Passover aisle is properly cleaned and organized and contains only products that are acceptable for Pesach. A list of COR certified Supermarkets and retailers is found on pages 13 and 14 of the COR Passover Guide.

It is very common for non-Pesach versions of products to be labelled by non-COR certified retailers as “Kosher for Passover” and they are being placed in Passover aisles around the city. Packaging of kosher for Pesach versions of products is often quite similar to their non-Pesach version and it is therefore easy for the unknowing consumer to make a mistake and purchase the wrong product. Please use caution when making your purchases for Pesach.
