    Description

    Peruvian Hearts Mission: Peruvian Hearts works to empower girls and young women living inpoverty in Peru by providing them with enhanced opportunities to transform their lives and becomeleaders within their communities. Concurrently, Peruvian Hearts strives to educate and inspire young

    people around the world to become involved in service and philanthropy.

    Internship Description: The Development / Communications Intern will work directly with theExecutive Director on a variety of organizational projects. This position will require 10-20 hours per

    week. An internship with Peruvian Hearts will provide significant experience in the day-to-dayoperation of an international grass-roots nonprofit organization (NGO). Internship candidates may be

    eligible to receive academic credit upon completion of an internship.

    Duties and Responsibilities: Research new opportunities for media coverage, online networking, and fundraising. Assistance with ongoing fundraising efforts as well as community outreach and event planning. Update and develop Peruvian Hearts online presence and social media sites such as Facebook,

    Twitter, etc.

    Develop different and alternative funding methods for the organization. Write press releases and other articles as needed. Work to develop school fundraising program. Connect with schools and other youth to offer opportunities for service and philanthropy.

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ideal candidates will be currently enrolled in, orwill have completed, a bachelors or graduate degree program with a background or interest in

    international development, business, non-profit management, communications, marketing, publicrelations, or information technology (IT).
