Celebrating 2013, the Year of the Snake, the reverse of the coin depicts an auspicious representation of a snake against bamboo. The birthdates for people born under this ancient Chinese astrological sign include 1917, 1929, 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001 and 2013.

No more than 3,000 1oz, 5,000 1/4oz, 5,000 1/10oz coins and 3,000 three-coin sets comprising all three sizes, will be released by The Perth Mint.
