Nintendos Pocket Pikachu a digital pet designed to persuade. Like other digital pets, Pikachu required care and feeding, but with a twist: the device contained a pedometer that could register and record the owners movements. For the digital creature to thrive, its owner had to be physically active on a consistent basis. The owner had to walk, run, or jumpanything to activate the pedometer.
