TRANSCRIPT

Hi, I’m Christian Koch.

I sign my emails with my initials: “-ck”.

So people started calling me ck.

You can too.

I live in New York City, and work for Microsoft.

I’ve been working on datacenters and networks since about 1999.

My primary focus at Microsoft is interconnecting networks, and managing internet exchange point business.

I also serve on the Board of Directors of Open-IX, and have been involved with the organization since it was founded.

In my free time I enjoy exploring cities, photography, and collecting & listening to vinyl records.

DISCLAIMER:

You might not agree with things I say. You may think I am being too harsh. You might think I don’t know what I am talking about. I’m just being honest. Some of topics and issues I’m going to talk about is feedback collected from within Microsoft, it is not just from me. It is from the Operators, the Engineers, and the Architects.. The people responsible for ensuring we continue to do what we have to do to the run the business. So I ask please, understand why I’m here in the first place. I can guarantee you Microsoft would not pay for my travel If we did not care about you, or the future of the internet.
