The 2016 Ecuador earthquake occurred on April 16 . State of emergency declared
C-295 FAE based in Manta in collaboration with Airbus Defence & Space participated in:
• people evacuation,
• rescue equipment transportation
• food and medicine transport
C-295 from Brazilian Air Force supported the humanitarian relief actions with:
• a cargo of 600.000 units of tetanus immune globulin (2.400 bottles),
• emergency kits with 42 items including drugs and basic health supplies.

RAFO C295 Full Capabilities Set-Up
• In April 2016, took place the final successful acceptance of all the deliverables included in the contract
with the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO).
• Airbus Defence & Space provided full support for the deployment of the RAFO fleet (4 C295 MTA & 4
C295 MPA) in two main operating bases.
• Also full training capabilities were delivered and set up on the field, including Mission Support Centre,
Full Flight Simulator and a Full Mission Simulator.
• An Airbus Defence & Space team, comprising of aircraft and training technicians, was deployed on-site in
2013 and will keep providing support under the contract until mid 2017.

originally expected flight hours, proving a very high reliability in their missions.
• These reliability figures are close to the ones provided by the civil A330 and, therefore, could be
considered as a record for a military platform.

• Airbus Defence & Space has made the decision to invest in a new A330 MRTT Full Flight Simulator on
top of the already existing ARO (Air Refueling Operator Simulator).
• The simulator will be manufactured by INDRA and will be located in the already existing state of the art
training facilities in Seville: International Training Center.
• The new FFS will significantly improve the in house training capabilities for MRTT recurrent and new
crews courses.
