WEBBING

Synthetic webbing is used for harness construction due to its economy, strength and overall consistency when compared to traditionalmaterials.

•Nylon: Polyamide (nylon) is a strong, cost effective synthetic suited to most fall arrest applications due to itsstrength to weight ratio, good abrasion resistance and resistance to alkalis.

•Polyester: Polyester has similar strength properties to polyamide in addition to superior chemical resistance andbetter resistance to UV rays.

•Kevlar®/Nomex® blend: This blend has similar strength properties to polyamide and polyester with addedresistance to heat, flame and sparks. Nomex provides a flame-retardant jacket surrounding the core of Kevlar fiberwhich provides the strength in this webbing.

® Kevlar and Nomex are registered trade marks of the E.I. Dupont Co.

Self-retracting lifelines (SRL) are one of the most versatile products for fall arrest situations. Whether made with webbing, like the retractable web lanyard,

wire rope or synthetic rope, the lanyard retracts into the housing to keep it out of the way. They improve comfort, reduce weight and increase user mobility

at or on the way to the job site. They are available in a variety of models and lengths to suit every job-site application. All the SRL's listed on the upcoming

pages are engineered to meet or exceed applicable ANSI, OSHA and CSA requirements.

Retractable web lanyards are the lightest SRL’s available. They are engineered to provide maximumprotection in places where lanyards might get in the way. They will "lock up" in approximately 9"(230 mm) thereby limiting the overall exposure to a fall by a considerable margin over a regularlanyard. They are available in various configurations to suit a variety of applications. All areequipped with 2" (50mm) webbing, a tough vinyl cover and mounting carabiner.

•General fall protection applications•Stock pickers in warehouses•Aerial lift applications (i.e. scissor-lifts)

For applications requiring that the web retractor be harness mounted, the FP0401 is ultra compactand lightweight with integrated energy absorber.

DuraLite is the lightest SRL series in its class. At 20 feet (6m) in length, it provides a lightweightalternative to SRL’s equipped with a heavy metallic housings or internal mechanisms. With a toughpolymer housing, 3/4" (20mm) webbing and a variety of connectors. The DuraLite series can handle avast variety of applications.

LIFELINES

North's self-retracting lifelines (SRL’s) are better than ever. Design advances in the return spring and

brake components ensure longevity and the ultimate in performance. Robust design,

a variety of lifeline lengths and corrosion resistant alloy housing means your SRL investment will go

a long way. Units can be equipped with stainless steel or galvanized steel cable, synthetic rope or

nylon webbing. All are equipped with a load indicator that triggers to show the unit has been

subjected to a severe force. SRL’s can be applied almost universally to fall protection requirements.

Note: Stainless steel cable is ideal for the food industry and environments involving chemicals

Self-Retracting Lifelines provide a fall arrest capability with added features that lanyards and vertical

lifelines cannot:

•Lifeline retracts under light tension •Excellent for ladder climbingto keep the lifeline out of the way •Multiple use - universal application

•Hands free vertical mobility •Easy to use and install•Minimizes fall distance •Variety of lengths to choose from•Increased user mobility in work area

The same robust durability and strength in North SRL's is built into the 3-way SRL product line. There's the added feature of an integrated retrieval winch that can raise or lower a person in anemergency situation. With a simple flick of the wrist, this 3-way SRL can be switched from fall arrestmode to retrieval mode to speed rescue of an injured worker.

The North FP6600 Tripod is engineered with the user in mind. The aluminum legs are made of square tubing foradded lightness and required strength. The cast alloy head has an integrated pulley system allowing a cable from adevice to pass through the center of the head. This eliminates costly pulleys and allows one of the 2 eyebolts in thehead to be used as a tie-off point for the topside worker. Another advantage of the FP6600 Tripod is that retractabledevices are located on the outside of the working area and not beneath the tripod. This allows a narrower profile and that means the tripod can fit into tighter spaces. North's all-aluminum construction sacrifices nothing to thesafety and security of its users. All are rated for one person at 140kg. or 310lbs and meet applicable ANSI and OSHA requirements.
