(Hardcore Soft Skills)

Emotional Intelligence is the other kind of smart

Lifeline is introducing this exciting new course. Over the last 25 years studies have shown that success is driven by IQ plus EQ that IQ cannot provide it on its own. When Emotional Intelligence was first recognised in 1990, it provided the missing answer to a peculiar finding: people with average IQ’s outperformed those with the higher IQ’s 70% of the time. A high Emotional Quotient (EQ) boosts career success, entrepreneurial potential leadership qualities, health, relationship satisfaction, humour and happiness. It is also the best antidote to stress and has been found to reduce levels of the stress hormone, cortisol.

Advantage to the Employer

Emotional Intelligence is a proven driver of performance.

Addressing EQ can optimise the effectiveness of existing manpower for a healthier, happier and productive workplace.

Equipping staff members with self-awareness can bring improved confidence and self-management.

Imparting EQ can Equip staff members with a greater awareness of their colleagues at work and providing practical skills such as active listening, harnessing bad temper, showing more empathy, being non-judgemental, conflict management, teambuilding and leadership.

Advantage to the Individual

Enhanced Personal Competence which is made up of:

Self-awareness which is your ability recognise and understand your emotions accurately and stay aware of them as they are happening.

Social Awareness which is your ability to accurately pick up on other people’s emotions and understand the underlying issues.

Relationship Management which is your ability to use your awareness of your and others’ emotions to manage interactions successfully.

Greater self-awareness leading to self-acceptance and self-understanding increases your self-confidence and ability to handle most situations. An essential component is the opportunity to receive feedback. Most of us have very little idea of how others experience us.

What is personal branding? Personal brand refers to the way people would describe you in the workplace. The type of interpersonal skills you possess and the manner in which you communicate. LifeLine is now offering a new Personal Branding course covers the main areas
