    (a) What you see as the strengths of Perry's ideas

I believe that the strongest points that Perrys ideas are those thatemphasize on the concrete divisions between stages of cognitivedevelopment. While reading, I was impressed that even at the college

level some students still classify under the Dualism category.

The insights on each stage of development maes me aware of myteaching habits and maes me aware of the best !tting teachingtechni"ues for my students that can be in di#erent Perrys stages. Thismeans that now I can target speci!c teaching$e%plaining techni"ues tostudents depending on the cognitive stage I identify them on.

    (b) The deepest new insight(s) you gained from them, and

The deepest insight was the behavior of the !rst two stages& Dualism

and 'ultiplicity. I sometimes feel that college education is cateringthose students on the later stages on the Perry scale, and those whohave not overcome the !rst stages tend to get consumed by thesystem.

That being said, I now understand some behaviors Ive spotted onsome students during worshop. (ome become very protective andcautious when trying to e%plain something to their peers, under thefear that they can be wrong. I believe that this type of students can beplaced on the Dualism stage, because they )inversely* are afraid to bewrong and lose authority on their classmates.

(ome others will +ust seem uninterested when another student iscontributing to the topic, and some others will actively engage in allconversations and always strive to go further in understandingmaterial and discussing it.

    (c) Any aspects that you found confusing or did not agreewith. To the extent that you can, mention the range of leelsthat you see in your Wor!shop(s), and what leel you thin! youyourself are at.

Weirdly enough, I agree with all of Perrys stages. The reason beingthat he is not +udging students or trying to apply corrective methods, instead he is +ust classifying tendencies and reactions they usuallyhave and labeling them as stages-.

(peci!cally, Ive identi!ed Dualism, elativism, and /ommitment in myworshop. I truly believe that the reason why I lied this reading is

because of the wide range of stages I believe my students could beplaced in.

I would consider myself to be in the general /ommitment stage, I owethis development to my 0th grade (panish teacher. 1e made us

comment on online newspapers every day and receive critics fromonline strangers, which criticized heavily, not nowing that a bunch of0thgraders were the ones posting.

I remember how my analysis, comprehension, and application sillswere highly developed through a year of doing this on the dailybecause I didnt want to have my comments bashed by people.

This e%ercise incorporated three ey elements to cognitivedevelopment& reading comprehension, critical thining, and real2lifeapplication.

3ver since that (panish class, I try to apply these three elements toevery piece of nowledge I receive, and I believe that it maes learningmore fun, interactive, and interesting. I hope I dont sound lie Im fullof myself, because Im not. I +ust really connected to this reading.
