Background and activities Rumah Teduh

Rumah Teduh is an non-government organizations specially established to jointly participate to fulfill a shared responsibility to help those in need in the society nowadays. Rumah Teduh is not just for children living in poverty and from broken family, but also for those who have social problems like drug addicts, pregnant before marriage and so on.

This organization consist of children, adolescents and also the youth. They provide proper education, accommodations to them without asking back from them. Rumah Teduh hope that their contribution can help to solve some social problems that is getting more serious in the society nowadays.

Besides provide education to the children, adolescents and the youth, Rumah Teduh also hope that they can improve their living skills and also able to communicate In English. 1-2 EPs will provide the education about living skills to 40 kids, adolescents and also youths. During the morning, the EPs can teach the adolescents whereas during the night time, the EPs can teach the children. The classes will be separated into two different times, one class in the morning for the adolescents and one will be at night for the Children. The EPs can teach the children and adolescents English, some simple maths, arts and drawing.

Besides that, the EPs can organize some activities that can stimulate the interests of the children and adolescents to study, cultural understanding, living skills and so on. Outside of working, the EPs can spend most of the time with The children, adolescents and youths in the NGO.

Timeline of the project

• The project is available from Jun until November

• The project will last for six weeks • The EPs will only need to work for five

days a week • The holidays for the EPs is flexible, but

mostly on the weekdays.

Accomodation

• At the NGO together with the kids (Jalan Sekolah Derma, 01000 Kangar, Perlis)

• EPs will be staying at the NGOs, together with the family of the founder and the childrens.

• Facilities: Kitchen Laundry 3 meals per day Wifi Internal transportation Library Ping pong, Badminton and

Foothball area
