Location: SUNYADescription: A pyramid is a three dimensionalfigure. The base is a polygon. It is usually asquare, but it can also be many other shapes. The sides of the pyramid are triangles. Theymeet at the top of the pyramid. One of the SevenWonders of the Ancient World is the pyramidslocated in Egypt. Pyramids have been used allover the world, in the past and the present.

Reflection: This project allowed me to open upmy eyes and realize what a huge role geometryplays in my everyday life. Everything around meis influenced by geometry. This project helpedme see the shapes, angles, lines, and other figures within the objects I encounter daily.

Location: In my kitchen

Description: The photo of the candy bar represents a triangular prism in real life. A

triangular prism is a three dimensional figure. Two opposite sides are triangles, and the other faces are parallelograms. There are manytriangular prisms in the world around us.

Description: "A cylinder is made up of a circle on thetop and bottom. An elongated circle is what makes up the middle of acylinder.when looking straight on at a cylinder there is a pair of parallel lines and a circle that is shown and a circle thatis not shown."

Name: Berger

Location: Down town Albany

Description: "A rectangular prism has three pairs of parallel sides.

The line where two sides meet make right angles.Rectangular prisms contain skew lines, lines that willnever intersect and are not on the same plane. "

Reflection: This project really got me to look atmath in a new way. Now I see math is more than

just numbers and equations, but also life as weknow it. Also it gave me a better understandingof why math is so important to learn and know.

Description: The markers in that position representalternate interior angles. Alternate interior angles are 2angles on the inside of paralell lines when they areintersected by a transversal. alternate interior anglesare congruent (or the same).

Name: Bolognino

Location:My House

Description: The Table top represents a plane. A planeis a flat surface with no thickness that extends in all

directions. Planes are all around us all the time, thisincludes the walls, the floor, and the ceiling.

Reflection: This project was a veryimportant one. It made me realizegeometry is important and is all aroundus.

Location: My KitchenDescription: "This multi-grain cracker represents ahexagon. Hexagons have six (6) straight sides and six(6) angles. A hexagon is a closed two (2) -dimensional polygon. The interior angle sum of a hexagon must be equal to720 degrees. "

Name: Bouchard

Location: My Family Room

Description: The staircase of my house represents aparellogram. A parallelogram is a plane polygon withfour (4) sides. It is a two (2) dimensional figure, and ithas opposite sides parallel to each other. A

parallelogram traditionally resembles a slantedrectangle. However, other two (2) dimensional figures, such as a square and a rectangle, may be classified asparallelograms as well.

Reflection: This project really opened my eyes to all of the geometric figures that can be found in everyday life.It was enjoyable to have a different assignment for achange in mathematics which required "hands- on"work searching for geometric shapes rather thancalculating traditional math on paper.

Location: Red Sox

Description:On the scoreboard at the baseball stadium,Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts, I foundcorresponding angles. Corresponding angles arecreated where a transversal crosses other lines, whichare usually parallel. Sometimes you see correspondingangles forming ninety degree angles, like in thispicture, but they do not have to be.

Name:Buchanan

Location: RI

Description:I found a right triangle when I was inNewport, Rhode Island looking at sail boats. A righttriangle is a triangle that has a ninety degree angle

inside of it. Even though we might not realize it, thereare right triangles everywhere. For example, if youwere to put a line diagonally through a square or rectangle, you would be left with two right triangles.

Reflection :From this project Ilearned that math can be fun. Inever knew that math could ever beconnected to photography, until Iwas assigned this project. Now Iview math a completely differentway and the world around us aswell.

Bonus

Location: Living Room

Description:In this photo, are parallel lines. Lines areconsidered parallel if they lie in the same plane. Also, parallel lines will never intersect. That is one way youcan tell if lines are parallel or not, because if they willeventually intersect, they cannot be parallel.

Location: Playground

Description: I was playing at a playground with myfriends when i saw that at the tops of posts werepyramids. This is a pyramid because it has triangular sides that meet at one vertex. The base of a pyramid isa perfect square.

Name: Clough

Location: My house

Description: "My dad and I were both on our laptopsand I saw that the laptops were both rectangular similar figures. Similar figures are figures that have the sameshape but not the same size. All solids are similar if

any two corresponding sides or planes areproportional.

"

Reflection: This project made me see that

everything in life has to do with Math. If you takea look around you will see some similar objectsthat you learn in math class. This was a funproject that made me want to look for more.

Bonus

Location: Basketball court

Description: I was shooting hoops and when I was

about to shoot i saw that my basketball was asphere. A sphere is a round, solid, threedemensional figure. It has no edges or vertices, andis perfectly symmetrical. Another example of asphere is the Earth.
