The Perimeter Softswitch was designed to be future-proof
and remove the constraints associated with traditional
Session Border Controllers. Service Providers and Enter-
prises are no longer encumbered by session, CPS, trunk,
media or routing translation limits.
Perimeter Softswitch
The system is highly available, modular and can deployed
natively in cloud environments or on bare metal. Its
interface is designed to make management a breeze and
Perimeter has an OAS V3 RESTful API for integration into
modern applications.
The Perimeter Softswitch is natively integrated into the
entire ecosystem. This includes the renowned IQ OSS/BSS
platform and our UC-optimized multi-datacenter Cloud.
Even though it can be installed on-premise, there are no
CAPEX or support agreement requirements. As with all
solutions, there are multiple deployment options, tailored
pricing models and flexible payment terms. Our goal is to
enable our customers to grow and we are here to support
you through that process.
The Ecosystem
The goal of all solutions is to integrate seamlessly into our
customer environments. If a customer operates in their
own datacenter, a public cloud provider or a hybrid of the
two, the Perimeter softswitch is designed to fit natively.
The fully-managed Perimeter Cloud can also be utilized to
augment or replace legacy infrastructure.

Session Border Controllers (SBCs) have occupied the
service provider and enterprise environments since the late
1990s. In the last 30 years, there have been significant
changes in these environments. However, the way SBCs
have been sold and managed has not evolved. The
ecosystem changes all of that and the Perimeter Softs-
witch is designed as a future-proof solution to evolving
networks.

Since the Perimeter system is modular at all levels, it can
be scaled out to accommodate any level of performance or
consistency. The modules in the system consist of load
balancers (LBs), Traffic Switches (TSs), Media Switches
(MSs), and Core Databases (DBs). High availability is
achieved through the use of multiple modules, control
protocols and OSPF. This means that if a component of the
system becomes unavailable, the system will self-heal
without user intervention.

Perimeter is sold exclusively as a SAAS model.
The licensing allows the system to be deployed in multiple
datacenters and controlled through a single interface.
Additionally, customers can mix and match how the
platform is purchased. Currently the platform can be
purchased by Ports, CPS or SIP Trunks and multiple
licenses can be layered to cater to specific workloads.

tasks like provisioning, routing and troubleshooting require

One of the biggest challenges in deploying diverse voice
networks is interconnecting with a dizzying array of
commercial vendor and homegrown infrastructure. While
most solutions are RFC3261 compliant, many may require
special configurations to interconnect effectively. The
Perimeter softswitch takes a unique approach to solving
these issues by automatically normalizing voice traffic as it
traverses through the switch. This normalization takes
place at the protocol, signaling and media layers and, in
most cases, is entirely transparent to both sides of a call.
