Performing History: The Italian Baroque Organ and Its Cultural Intersections October 22–25 at the Memorial Art Gallery, Rochester, NY This four-day festival of concerts, masterclasses, and paper sessions marks the tenth anniversary of the installation of Eastman’s Italian Baroque Organ at the Memorial Art Gallery (MAG). All events are free and open to the public. Concerts and masterclasses take place in MAG’s Fountain Court. Paper sessions will be in the MAG auditorium. Christ Church Schola Cantorum (directed by Stephen Kennedy), Nathan Laube (organ), and Publick Musick A liturgical recreation of Zipoli’s Missa a San Ignacio, written for the Jesuit missions in early 18th century South America, with concerted mass movements, organ solos, choral motets, and chant. Free admission, but concert tickets must be reserved in advance. Any remaining tickets will be made available on the door one hour before the concert starts.

5.30 PM Concert: A Tenth Anniversary Celebration for the Italian Baroque Organ

David Higgs (Eastman School of Music), Hans Davidsson (Royal Danish Academy of Music), William Porter (Eastman School of Music, McGill University) - organ The inauguration of Eastman’s Italian Baroque Organ at MAG in October 2005 was celebrated with a ten-day festival, including a recital given by Eastman’s three organ professors at that time. Ten years later, this concert reunites these renowned performers in a varied program showcasing the colors of the Italian Baroque Organ. Free admission, but concert tickets must be reserved in advance. Any remaining tickets will be made available on the door one hour before the concert starts
