Simplification of nomination process

1. Inorder to encourage Clients to make nomination in demat account, nomination process has been simplified whereby clients can now provide any one of the following documents of the nominee and guardian (in case of nominee is minor) at the time of nomination:

(a) Nominees’ photograph and signature or

(b) PAN or

(c) Aadhaar number or

(d) Details of saving bank account maintained with Participant or

(e) Copy of any other proof of identity of nominee (accompanied by originals for verification or duly attested by any entity authorized for attesting the documents as prescribed by SEBI) or

(f) Demat account details of nominee.

2. In case of transmission of the securities to Claimant [i.e. the nominee or legal heir(s) or legal representative(s)] where demat account of the claimant is not with the Participant, Participants shall obtain copy of Client Master report of demat account of Claimant.

3. Participants can make additions to the format of the Account Opening Form and changes in the sequence / order of the fields. Deletion of any field is not permitted.

4. With effect from June 25, 2014, Participants must obtain amended KYC Application Forms (Part 1 of Annexure J and K) in respect of all new clients. However, Participants may use the existing stock of Account Opening Forms (Part 2 of Annexure J and K) until the stock last.

Transfer of depository operations from Janalaxmi Co-Op Bank Limited, Nashik to The Cosmos Co-Operative Bank Ltd.

NSDL has informed all its Participants that consequent to transfer of depository operations from Janalaxmi Co-Op. Bank Limited, Nashik (Participant ID IN302121) to The Cosmos Co-Operative Bank Limited, the name of Janalaxmi Co-Op. Bank Limited, Nashik is replaced with that of The Cosmos Co-Operative Bank Limited for the Participant ID IN302121.

Subscription to SPEED-e

During May 2014, two more Participants have subscribed to the SPEED-e facility viz.,

Clients of the above mentioned Participants can now avail the facility of submitting various instructions through SPEED-e facility.

Training Programmes for Participants:

NCDO/NISM training / certification programmes for Participants

To facilitate officials of Participants to prepare and appear for NISM-Series VI Depository Operations Certification Examination

(DOCE), NSDL conducted three such training programmes in May 2014 at Hyderabad, Lucknow & Mumbai which were

attended by 40 officials of Participants.

CPE Training Programme for Participants

NSDL, an approved NISM Accreditated Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Provider offers CPE training programmes for

eligible associated persons of Participants. In May 2014, NSDL conducted 12 such training programmes at various locations

viz., Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, Pune & Visakhapatnam which were

attended by 337 officials of Participants.

KYC Training Programme for Participants

In May 2014, NSDL conducted seven ‘KYC requirements for Account Opening’ training programme at Ahmedabad, Bangalore,

Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata & New Delhi which were attended by 201 officials of Participants. The program focuses on latest

developments viz., procedure for opening various depository accounts, BSDA, RGESS, etc., to facilitate efficient functioning

of depository operations of Participants.

Investor Education initiatives undertaken by NSDL

Programme towards Women Empowerment

Inorder to reach out to women to impart basic knowledge about investing and about demat & to further equip them to take

more knowledgeable investment decisions, NSDL in Joint association with IDFC Mutual Fund conducted a programme for

around 25 women in May 2014 covering topics such as SIP, Mutual Funds, Demat and other NSDL products.

Joint Awareness Programmes with ICICI Securities Limited & J. K. Securities Private Limited: In order to reach out to

investors that are spread across the country and to apprise them about the facilities available in NSDL depository system and

the awareness on stock markets, NSDL conducted Joint Awareness Programmes with ICICI Securities Limited at Bhagalpur

in Orissa & with J. K. Securities Private Limited at Umreth in Gujarat in May 2014 which were attended by more than

200 investors.

Q.6 There are demat accounts / shares certificates held by joint holders. In such a case who will cast the vote in e-voting system?

Ans. As, only one of the several joint holders is entitled to exercise voting power, in case of e-voting only first holder is recognized for the purpose of sending user ID & password for e-voting. Accordingly, the vote casted using the User ID and password sent to first holder is recognized on behalf of all the joint holders, as the shareholder who casts the vote through the e-Voting services of NSDL is doing so on behalf of all joint holders.

Q.7 Is there any charge for using e-voting system of NSDL?

Ans. No. Currently, NSDL does not levy any charge on the shareholders for using the e-Voting system.

Q.8 Is there any User manual to understand the login and voting process ?

Ans. Yes. You can download the User manual from (https://www.evoting.nsdl.com).

Q.9 Will proxy be able to cast vote in e-voting system?

Ans. e-Voting system brings flexibility, convenience and ease of operation for the shareholder to cast vote through internet. Thus, eliminating the need to appoint a proxy.

Q.10 Is time period for e-voting same as Postal ballot?

Ans. Yes. The time defined in the Postal Ballot Rules, 2001 for Postal Ballot is applicable for e-Voting as well.

Q.11 Once I cast my vote on e-voting System, can I modify my vote before the closing of e-voting cycle?

Ans. No. Vote once casted will be considered final and cannot be modified.
