Overview Leaders today face new challenges posed by a wider spectrum of operations and requirements. With these challenges, it is crucial that leaders be equipped with skills to lead, facilitate and accelerate the learning and development of their subordinates and teams. A critical skill needed by all leaders is that of reviewing the performance of subordinates and providing as well as receiving feedback through a properly managed performance appraisal interview. It is particularly appropriate for leaders of SMEs who are in the position of facilitating change, motivating and empowering staff members and responding to the challenges of human capital in the context of their Organisational Excellence journey. Key Thrusts of Workshop This workshop focuses on equipping leaders of SMEs with the knowledge of performance management system, and the competency skills, knowledge and attitude to effectively review the performance of subordinates and providing as well as receiving feedback through a properly managed appraisal interview. These will include fostering open channels of communications, and assessing their development needs, sustain good performance and improve as well as correct poor performance of their subordinates. They will be equipped to conduct Performance Coaching (Spontaneous on-the-spot coaching or planned formal coaching) to the individual to raise his performance in his current role, by enabling him to develop certain behaviors and abilities or to remove “obstacles” or “barriers” to his performance, as well as learn how to identify high potential staffs, and develop and groom these talents. Methodology We have created a “Hands-on/Heads-on” experience that uses proven accelerated-learning and action-learning strategies that insure you apply the learning to real situations. A strong emphasis will be placed on the immediate application of the lessons learnt.
