Welcome to Ravenscraig for the inaugural Scottish Women’s Football (SWF) National Performance League Cup Finals 2018. I’d like to start by saying thank you to Ravenscraig for hosting the finals this weekend. They have been extremely accommodating and this venue provides us with a fantastic setting for a great weekend of football. This is the first year of the National Performance League therefore this weekend will crown the first ever winners of the under 15’s and under 19’s Cup. I want to wish all four teams the very best of luck and congratulate them in taking part in a moment of history for the game. These leagues were designed to create a meaningful performance pathway for our elite, youth players therefore I am confident that many of today’s players will be recognised names in years to come. This weekend will showcase the next generation of talent for both clubs and Scotland as a whole. Finally, on behalf of SWF, I would like to thank all the players, coaches, match officials, and volunteers who give their time selflessly to develop and support the girls and women’s game throughout the year. And a very special thanks to all the spectators who have come along to support them today. Good luck to all teams. We hope you have a fantastic experience, no matter the result.
