The relation between India and the Arab world is based on deeply rooted historical bonds and common heritage of values upholding human freedom and dignity and conformity to market economy and enterprise. These relationships have been further developed by a sense of geographical proximity and extended neighborhood. These relations date back to times when the region had not even contemplated its economic transformation in the wake of discovery of oil. India's objective is to facilitate achievement of significant levels of sustained growth and to build economic and financial relations with Arab countries that support India's growth, trade, investment and employment. India has made infrastructure development a top priority. Priority means just the way that fighting and winning a war is a priority for survival. Unless infrastructure development – power, roads, water management, telecommunications, harbors, airports and airlines – becomes a reality, India's objective of sustaining 8-10% growth will prove to be unrealistic. India, as you all aware, one of the fastest growing major economies of the world having high domestic saving rates, high agriculture growth rate, strong manufacturing rate, a booming service sector, a very young population. And has invested heavily in education, health and Agro-sector to give a new deal to rural India which has resulted the growth of middle class rapidly. India is one of the most attractive, favorite destination for FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) and that is why India invites our long standing friends from the Arab world to participate in its growth story. The depth of the economic relationship is reflected by the presence of 4.5 million Indians in the Arab world (mainly Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar & Kuwait) and the annual remittances to India is to the tune of 24 billion dollar a year. This shows and impact on the Indian consumer demand for goods and services. This is fine example of mutual growth. We see here business leaders from India have succeeded in establishing their presence in the Arab world over several decades and also has acted as goodwill ambassador between India & Arab world. It is interesting to watch how a true globalization is shaping up in terms of strengthening of mutual relations between India and Arab world. The total trade between India and Arab world is US$144 billion in 2010-11. Out of which India-UAE trade alone accounts for about US$ 67 billion i.e. more than 46%. t is a great pleasure for me to be the IChairman of this prestigious Institute. Indo-Arab Chamber provide dynamic institutional link, networking platform, a meeting place for friends who are engaged in doing business with India and Arab world and to contribute towards mutual development of the people of the whole region through further strengthening of trade and investment opportunities.

India's objective is to facilitate achievement of significant levels of sustained growth and to build economic and financial relations with Arab countries that support India's growth, t rade, investment and e m p l o y m e n t . I n d i a h a s m a d e infrastructure development a top priority.

And has invested heavily in education,

health and Agro-sector to give a new deal to rural India which has resulted the growth of middle class rapidly.

Out of which India-UAE trade alone accounts for

about US$ 67 billion i.e. more than 46%.

There exists Opportunities in the Arab world for Indians in the following sectors: Agriculture, Food Possessing & Packaging, Meat Processing and Packaging, Healthcare, Education, Oil & Gas Industry, SME, IT & ITC, Tourism & H o s p i t a l i t y , E n g i n e e r i n g & Construction, Infrastructure, Power & Energy & many more…

By 2030 India is going to be world's 3rd largest consumer of oil, with India opening doors to PPP there is a big window for the investors from the Arab world. The Arab-India partnership is a win-win situation that both side needs to leverage. There are also key bilateral agreements India has enter in to specially on IT, Defense, Double Taxation, FTA, Economic Co-operation for further relaxation and to remove barriers all this conditions encourages Indian's to do business with Arab world.

We at the Chamber, are playing a pivotal role in strengthening the century old bilateral relation between India & Arab World Since 1980.

I extend my best wishes to the Chamber for scaling Greater heights of glory in the years to come.
