ABRAHAM LINCOLN

Abraham Lincoln was the

sixteenth president of the

United States.

He was born in 1809 in

Kentucky .

He studied law and he was a

lawyer.

He was elected president in

1860.

He was a strong opponent of slavery in the USA.

He defended freedom and equality.

A man killed him when he was at the theatre in 1865

Martín Álvarez

NEIL ARMSTRONG

He was born in 1930 in Ohio.

When he was 16 years old, he got a pilot license.

He went to University and afterwards, he became an

astronaut.

He joined the NASA in 1962.

He was the first man to walk on the moon. It was in 1969, on

July 20th.

He went up there in the Apollo 11 with two pilots: Buzz

Aldrin and Collins.

They investigated the moon surface.

They returned to Earth on July 24th.

Raúl Melo

JUAN RAMON JIMENEZ

He was a famous Spanish

writer.

He was born in Moguer,

Huelva in 1881.

When he was young, he

worked writing for

newspapers and magazines.

Later , he was a Professor of

Spanish language and

literature at University.

He lived in Sevilla and Madrid . He travelled to France and

America.

He wrote poetry and prose.

He received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1956.

Alex Cid

MARIE CURIE

She was born in Warsow

(Poland) in 1867.

She had five brothers and

sisters. She was the youngest

of them.

She studied physics, chemistry

and maths at the University of

Paris. She was a good student.

There, she met Pierre Curie and they got married. They had two

daughters.

In 1903 she received the Nobel Prize in physics for her research

on radioactivity. She was the first woman to receive a Nobel

Prize.

She discovered two new elements: Polonium and Radium.

In 1911 she received a Nobel Prize in Chemistry .

She is the only person who won a Nobel Prize in two different

sciences.

She died in France in 1934.

Alba Rodríguez

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

He was born in Austria in 1756.

He was a musician and a composer.

He composed his first opera with twelve

years.

He played the piano. He gave a lot of

concerts in France, Germany, Italy and

London.

He went to Paris, but he didn’t like the

city.

His most famous works are “The marriage of Figaro” , “Don

Giovanni” and “The magic flute”.

He died in 1791. He was 35 years old.

Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson was born in 1952 in

Gary, Indiana. He was a pop singer, a

dancer and a composer.

When he was a kid, he sang with his

brothers. They had a band: “The Jackson

Five”.

His best albums were “Thriller”, “Off the

wall”, “Bad” and “Dangerous”.

My favourtite song is “Smooth Criminal”

He wrote “We are the world” to help poor

children from Africa

Michael Jackson had a very big ranch and there was a

fun fair, a zoo and a cinema there.

He was called “the king of pop” and he received a lot of

awards

He died in California in 2009.

Miguel Cruz

Cleopatra

.She was born in Alexandria (Egypt)

in 69 BC. .She was the last queen of

Egypt.

She was very intelligent. She learnt 8

languages: Greek, Hebrew, Syrian,

Egyptian... She liked Music, History, Politics... She was

very good at Maths, Literature, Medicine...

She was very beautiful, too.

She died in 30 C. A snake bit her. She was 39 years old.

María De Melo

Charles Chaplin

Sir Charles Chaplin was born in

London in 1889.

He was a comic actor, a film

director and a music composer.

He began to act with five years. He

acted in 81 films. He acted in silent

films an din movies with sound.

His most famous character was a

wanderer dressed with a black hat, big shoes and a

cane.

His first talking film was “The great Dictator”, a film

against Nazism and in favour of liberty.

He died in Switzerland in 1977. He was 88 years old.

His daughter Geraldine is an actress.

Alba Rodríguez
