THE FULLNESS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

The church wakes up to an amazing message this morning. Look around and see who has been called. Listen to the voices of those who proclaim Jesus is Lord. You’ll find no race of people left out; you’ll find no language on earth unfit to proclaim the glory of God. We call Pentecost Sunday the “birthday of the church.” In many ways, the church is still being born. Only when we all know the peace Jesus offered in today’s Gospel will we really know the fullness of the Holy Spirit.

St. Paul assures us in today’s second reading that “all of us have been given to drink of the one

Spirit.” When we look around us in the church we should see everyone. But we don’t. Not yet. What is holding us back from fully embracing the one Body of Christ? When will we see our differences as manifestations of the same Holy Spirit?

BIOGRAPHY OF FATHER MAURICIO MUÑOZ

Hi my name is Fr Mauricio Munoz. I was born in a little town called Salamina in Colombia on march

30th 1979. I am only one son, no brothers or sisters. My

mom’s name is Dora and my dad’s name is Efren.

When I was 12 years old my family moved to a city called Pereira, so I grew up in this city. When I finished my high school I went to the minor

Seminary in Pereira and then I went to the major Seminary of Pereira. I studied in this seminary for 7 years and

when I finished third Theology I came to the United States to join the Diocese of Yakima in January of 2008. I studied English at Gonzaga University one year and then I went to Saint Patrick’s Seminary in

Menlo Park, CA to finish my studies of theology. I was ordained Priest the 25th of May of 2012 and my first assignment was Our Lady of Fatima in Moses Lake. I was the associate Pastor of Fr Dan

Dufner. Then after two years I went to Saint Joseph Parish in Wenatchee with Fr Tom Kuykendall. I was his associate Pastor for one year. I was

with him when he passed away, then I went to Saint Paul’s Cathedral in Ya-kima with Fr John Ecker until now

that my new assignment is in Ephrata. ...To be continued!

FATHER MIGUEL’S SCHEDULE THIS SUMMER

Fr. Mauricio Mun oz will be arriving to our Church on June 6th. Fr. Miguel, together with him, will be in our parish from June 6th to the 10th. Fr. Miguel will be leaving to the Cathedral on June 10th for two months. While he is at the Cathedral he will be traveling to Chi-

cago, Denver, Nashville, Texas and Oregon. Finally, he will be arriving to Cashmere on August 8th, to be the Parish pastor of both communities, Cashmere and Leavenworth. Let us unite our prayers for him as he con-tinues his new step in his priestly ministry.

LA PLENITUD DEL ESPÍRITU SANTO

La Iglesia se despierta esta man ana con un asombroso men-saje. Mira a tu alrededor a ver quie n ha sido llamado. Escucha las voces de los que proclaman que Jesu s es el Sen or. Encontrara s que ningu n pueblo ni raza ha sido excluido; ningu n idioma del mundo es incapaz de proclamar la gloria de Dios. Decimos que el Domingo de Pentecoste s es el “cumplean os de la Iglesia”. En di-versas maneras, la Iglesia todaví a esta naciendo. So lo cuando todos conozcan la paz que Jesu s ofrece en el Evangelio de hoy es que de veras conoceremos la plenitud del Espí ritu Santo.

San Pablo nos asegura en la segunda lectura de hoy que “a todos se nos ha dado a beber del mismo Espí ritu”. Cuando pasa-mos nuestra mirada por la Iglesia, deberí amos de ver a todos. Pero no es así . Todaví a no, ¿que barrera nos impide abrazarnos en un solo Cuerpo de Cristo? ¿Cua ndo vamos a reconocer que nuestras diferencias son manifestaciones de un mismo Espí ritu Santo?

crecí en esta ciudad. Cuan-do termine la secundaria fui al seminario menor en Pe-reira y luego fui al Semina-rio Mayor de Pereira. Estu-die en este seminario du-rante 7 an os y cuando ter-mine tercero de Teologí a llegue a los Estados Unidos

para unirme a la Dio cesis de Yakima, en enero de 2008. Estudie Ingle s en la Universidad de Gonzaga por un an o y luego fui al Seminario de San Patricio en Menlo Park, CA para terminar mis estudios de teologí a. Fui ordenado sacerdote el 25 de mayo de 2012 y mi primer destino fue Nuestra Sen ora de

Fa tima en Moses Lake. Yo era el pastor asociado del Padre Dan Dufner. Luego, despue s de dos an os me fui a la parroquia de San Jose en Wenatchee con el Padre Tom Kuykendall.
