There were many entries in the art and photography categories from our students, who won some coveted prizes. Joanne D won the Katnook Capers Photography Compe on. Other photography winners included Damon B, Amber S and Georgie B, among others. Emma R also won the Show Poster Compe on with her sepia toned old fashioned styled entry. Cheyenne F and Phoebe T won some awards in the secondary art category, including awards for their 2D and 3D items.Sco McCulloch and his Vietnam Trip students and their parents manned the show gate and the PHS wine and cheese stall on the Friday night to raise money to go towards the trip. Thank you to all the students and parents who supported this fundraising event.A big thank you must go to all the Year 9 students and SSOs who assisted with the show set-up over the two days leading up to the event. Year 12 Farewell AssemblyWinsley Wighton

Members of the Year 11 class organised a whole school assembly to celebrate the fi nish of the academic year for our Year 12 students. Students in years 8 to 11 were ushered into the Hall by Sarah S and asked to stand for the offi cial party and the Year 12 students by Montana F. Montana introduced Cory O who read the Acknowledgement of the Land, and Alana W and Tom W who then conducted the assembly. Tom welcomed everyone to the assembly then delivered apologies from Mr Thorne and Mrs Roachock. Alana lit a candle represen ng the spirit of learning and belonging in our school community. James Braddy had prepared a compila on of school photos for each of the students, and these were projected on the screen – much to the interest and delight of the students.

Mr Hentschke spoke of the Year 12 students, their years at Penola High and the opportuni es that await. Mrs Trahar delivered a brief address and Mrs Wighton read a message from Mrs Roachock.

Ashlee S, SRC Co-President, spoke movingly about the high school years of our Year 12 students and Mr Hentschke conducted the last roll call. Students were presented with a cer fi cate of comple on, a candle and a personal card with photos and comments from students and teachers. Ashlee had compiled a powerpoint of photos of various highlights which created much interest as it was played. The assembly fi nished with the whole school on the front lawn while the Year 12 students released helium balloons and was followed by a morning tea for Year 12 students, parents, friends and teachers in the seminar room. Our thanks are extended to Emma Dear who provided the morning tea, Ali Bond who prepared the fl owers for the Hall, Jan Marcus who decorated the candles presented to the students and James Braddy for IT support.
