Repair and Refurbished Goods or Parts Notice

Unfortunately, from time to time, faulty products are manufactured which need to be returned to the supplier for repair.

Please be aware that if your product is capable of retaining user-generated data (such as files stored on a computer hard drive, telephone numbers stored on a mobile telephone, songs stored on a portable media player, games saved on a games console or files stored on a USB memory stick) during the process of repair, some or all of your stored data may be lost.

We recommend you save this data elsewhere prior to sending the product for repair.

You should also be aware that rather than repairing goods, we may replace them with refurbished goods of the same type or use refurbished parts in the repair process.

Please be assured though, refurbished parts or replacements are only used where they meet ALDI’s stringent quality specifications.

If at any time you feel your repair is being handled unsatisfactorily, you may escalate your complaint. Please telephone us on 1300 883 104 or write to us at:

GENERAL INFORMATION4X4 TOUGH HID Driving Lights are designed with off road use in mind. Each HID Driving Lights Ballast is waterproof (IP67). A mixture of pencil and flood beam provides an impressive spread and distance of light.

Modern motor vehicles are increasingly equipped with complex electronics and it is recommended the 4X4 TOUGH HID Driving Lights are installed by a qualified automotive electrician to ensure they are installed without affecting the vehicle’s electrical system and in built computer system. A qualified automotive electrician is trained to ensure the installation will meet the ADR (Australian Design Rule) regulatory requirements.

The user guide should be stored in a dry convenient location in the event you need to refer back to information within this guide.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONSCAUTIONThe product you have purchased emits a strong light and could cause an oncoming driver to experience serious visual impairment if the light was illuminated and directed into the path of another vehicle. For this reason the light you have purchased must be connected in a manner to ensure the driving lights will only work when the main (high) beam lamps are in the “on” position.

WARNINGS AND SAFEGUARDS• Carefully read and understand all safety information, warnings and cautions relating

to use and installation of the HID Driving Lights.• Serious property damage and physical injury may result unless instructions

are followed.• NEVER look directly into the HID Driving Lights.• The location of the HID Driving Lights mounting position must not interfere with

normal operation of the vehicle.• NEVER connect the HID Driving Lights to a 240V power supply.• DO NOT connect the HID Driving Lights to a power source greater than 32V. • ALWAYS take care when handling electrical wiring, placing undue force on wiring /

cables can result in damage internally and cause the wiring to fail.

WARNING: We recommend you check for legal compliance prior to installing your driving lights.

(This is the light with the smooth reflector)1 x Wiring Harness (including 12V relay)1 x H4 Piggyback Cluster

INSTALLATIONHID Driving Lights Fitment

• Select your preferred installation point on the vehicle.• Check for Air Bag Sensor location points in your vehicle’s owner manual before

installing the HID Driving Lights, NEVER DRILL HOLES AT THESE LOCATIONS.• ENSURE positioning is at the front of the vehicle and fitted in such a way that the light

emitted does not cause discomfort to the driver either directly or indirectly through the rear-view mirrors and/or other reflecting surfaces of the vehicle.

• Your vehicle, when fitted with additional driving lamps such as HID Driving lights, must conform with State regulations. Please be aware regulations may vary from State to State.

• Fitment of accessory lighting must not conceal any of the original equipment lights on the vehicle.

• HID driving lights should be installed symmetrically in pairs to the front of the vehicle. • Additional lamps including LED light bars and HID driving lights must be

securely fitted to minimise the likely hood of injury to a person making contact with the vehicle.

• It is important the installation location does not obstruct the driver’s view of the road and or traffic.

• Additional lamps including LED light bars and HID driving lights MUST ONLY be able to be illuminated when the main-beam head lamps (High Beam) switch is in the “lamps on” position.

• A maximum of four driving lamps including LED light bars and HID Driving lights can be fitted to a vehicle in addition to the vehicles main beam headlamps.

WIRING INSTALLATION – “PLUG AND PLAY” – REFER TO Fig. 11. Check the vehicle’s owner manual for information regarding installation and use of

auxiliary lights.2. If battery disconnection is required, follow closely the instructions in the vehicle

owner’s manual as disconnection may affect the vehicle’s on-board computer system.3. Layout the wiring harness and familiarize yourself with the wiring diagram on the

proceeding page.4. Locate the inline fuse “D” [Fig. 1 D] in the wiring diagram and remove the fuse.5. Remove the high beam connection from the vehicle headlight on one side and

check compatibility of the H4 [Fig. 1 A1] connector. If the H4 connector is not compatible, you will need to purchase an alternative piggyback connector from an authorised electrical supplier.

6. If you have purchased an alternative connector, remove the existing H4 connector and replace with the alternative connector, in accordance with the instructions on page 10.

7. Connect the H4, or alternative to the vehicle headlight.8. Connect the vehicle’s wiring loom previously connected to the vehicle headlight

[Fig. 1 B] to the connector A3 [of wiring diagram].9. Connect the HID wiring harness [Fig. 1 E] to the piggyback cluster at connector A2

[Fig. 1 A2].10. Locate a suitable pathway to run the wiring harness, away from sources of heat or

moving parts.11. Connect the wiring harness to the HID Driving Lights [Fig. 1 G]; there are two

driving lights and connector I [x2 in wiring diagram] is connected to each individual driving light.

12. Determine a suitable position for location of the “on/off” switch [Fig. 1 H] on the dashboard or other convenient location.

13. Run that part of the wiring harness containing the “on/off” switch through the firewall and secure the switch in the chosen location.

14. Secure the relay [Fig. 1 C] at a convenient serviceable location in the engine bay, which will allow the battery connections to reach the battery [Fig. 1 F].

15. Run the part of the wiring harness which connects to the battery through to the battery and attach red to positive and black to negative.

16. Replace the fuse previously removed.
