Spend the weekend having fun with shooting sports, geocaching, hiking first aid, wilderness survival, make your own paracord survival bracelet, rope and fire starter, make dinner in a Dutch oven, and participate in an epic Camp Fire program Saturday night. $12/participant. Council Cub Scout Family Campouts are one-night events for Cub Scouts and their families. Families can pick any weekend to attend or even more than one! Multpile activities will be offered including BB guns, archery, STEM activities, and more! Included in each overnight are meals, a patch, a campfire snack and all program activities. Fall 2019 Dates: September 27-28 @ Naish September 28-29 @ Naish October 5-6 @ Bartle October 11-12 @ Naish Online registration begins in June. Cost is $10/person.

Webelos and Arrow of Light Webelos, learn what Boy Scout Camp is all about and get a taste of the best summer camp program in the country! Earn a few requirements for AoL and have a whole lot of FUN in the process! Cost is $25/person and includes 3 meals & Saturday AM snack, Saturday night cracker-barrel, all program activities, Webelos Discovery Weekend patch.

2019 FALL STEM RALLY

October 18-20 (19), 2019 @ Camp Naish

STEM Rally is a Council event in which Scouts BSA, Webelos/AOL Webelos, and Venturers participate in learning more about STEM in Kansas City and how it can be applied inside and outside the classroom! Get hands on experience with the latest STEM technologies and have fun while doing it! Interested units may camp in the North Meadows Field on Friday night or Saturday night. All units must have 2-deep leadership in accordance with YP guidelines and at least one adult must be YPT. Cost is $25/Scout. No meals are provided. Fees include activities, supplies and materials. There is no camping fee. Pre-registration is requested at hoac-bsa.org/stem.

COPE-A-PALOOZA 2020 April 17-18, 2020 @ Camp Bartle

Cope-A-Palooza 2019 was such a resounding success, plans are already underway for 2020! This C.O.P.E. and Climbing event at the H. Roe Bartle Scout Reservation opens all of your favorite climbing spots at Bartle … Cope Course (zip line, crate stacking, climbing, rappelling, Climbing Tower, Fort Collins, Cedar Bluff, Devil’s Staircase, Rattlesnake Cave, etc.

Harvesters Mobile Food Pantry, 1-2pm @ First Baptist Church of Lawrence, 4th Saturdays in 2019. First Baptist Church hosts the Harvesters mobile food pantry once a month. Scouts can come and help prepare food and help with distribution of the mobile food pantry for service hours. Please contact Cindy Lynn - [email protected] – to help out.

SAVING THE MAGNIFICENT MONARCH – Support Monarch Conservation @ Prairie Park Nature Center (LPR), Sunday, September 29, 1-4pm. Learn about monarch migration, conservation troubles and how you can help. Catch, tag and release monarch back into the wild. Open to all; children under 14 must have an adult. Haunted Trails is a Halloween themed event for all Cub Scouts and their families. Hike the Haunted Trails at Camp Naish this fall on our guided trails and finish with a campfire snack. This is a fun opportunity for the family to bring the whole Pack out for a fun Fall evening.

Cost is $8/person. The fee includes a light meal, shuttle service and patch. Space is limited so register early. The first hike begins at 4pm with the last hike beginning at 9pm. Please plan to arrive at Bonner Springs High School parking lot at least 30 minutes before your hike time so you can take the shuttle into camp.

The Scout Night ticket package is $20 and includes a game ticket, official Scout Day patch, access to pre-game activities on the concourse and a post-game shot on goal on the ice! Game starts at 7:05. Scouts are encouraged to wear uniforms to the game so they can participate in any on-ice activities. Stay informed about what’s happening at the Council and District level by opting-in to the Heart of America Council’s email distribution system, Constant Contact. Scout Night at the Kansas City Zoo – November 1-2nd Cubs and Scouts BSA Day at the Kansas City Zoo! Scouts in their uniforms will receive FREE admission and those accompanying them will receive a reduced admission of $7.
