New Brighton Business and Land-owners Association manager Paul Zaanen, has launched a scathing at-tack at the city council’s Long Term Plan – from the mayor’s chair.

In the speech from the chair, Mr Zaanen blasted the plan saying the city council has failed to help New Brighton and the budget set out in the plan was inadequate to imple-ment the recently adopted New Brighton Master Plan.

“Do you have a plan? Do you have a strategy to move New Brigh-ton ahead? These are rhetorical questions, because I already know the answer . . . no you don’t. This proposed budget speaks volumes to these self-evident truths . . . you really have not listened!

“Through your PR teams you will hit back, you will tell the public ‘but wait we are putting $30 million into the eastern rec and sports facility,

look at us reinvesting in you’ . . . but this is not the truth, the previ-ous facility was worth $160 million, yes you underinsured it and only got $77 million back, of which you took the lion’s share to the CBD for the Metro Sports Facility, this is called asset stripping. But wait you say ‘we are putting money into a legacy project’, how is that project coming along?”

He said he was not there repre-senting the association but as mem-ber of the community giving his honest views on the city council’s Long Term Plan.

Marshland School pupils are learning about the history of World War 1 by digging up their school fields.

Last week year 7 and 8 pupils dug a 10m trench in the field which gave them a real-life per-spective of what it was like for soldiers fighting from trenches during World War 1.

Student teacher Brittany Nixon was the person behind the idea and said the children were so excited to be getting hands-on with their social studies and loved the idea of being able to incorporate class

with digging the trench. The trench was about 1m

wide and 1m deep which was decorated with poetry and art-work the pupils had done while learning about the history of the war.

Ms Nixon said persuading the school to allow her class to dig up the school field was rela-tively easy as the school is set for demolition and relocated to a new site on Prestons Rd.

The children made sure they planned the trench before dig-ging the real one.

“We had a wee look at the structure and the equipment the soldiers would have had

provided to them and how the trenches were built. The kids made mock trenches which gave them a rough idea how a trench would stay up.”

Ms Nixon said it was not only her class that was excited about the unusual classroom activity and her class wanted to get the whole school on board.

“They were pretty excited and they were really keen to get other classes on board and getting the younger classes on board,” she said.

The trench was expected to be there for a week after a community event held at the weekend.

•From page 1Mr Zaanen posted his speech on

the Peoples Independent Republic of New Brighton Facebook page where it had been liked more than 200 times and had 100 people com-ment on it.

The proposed budget set out in the Long Term Plan for big ticket items such as the master plan and the legacy project in New Brighton was about $37 million of which $24 million was for the city’s major cy-cleway plans.

Burwood-Pegasus Community Board chairwoman Andrea Cum-mings, agreed with Mr Zaanen and said encouraging people to make submissions on the Long Term Plan was the only way to get their concerns heard by the city council.

Ms Cummings and Mr Zaanen held a meeting to discuss these is-sues with the community last week where more than 50 people attend-ed to vent their frustrations.

She said the reason people were at the meeting was because they thought New Brighton has got a raw deal.

“The real big push to the com-munity is to get them to submit. We are looking at getting the commu-nity together to help write submis-sions as it can be a scary process if you haven’t done it before.”

▌▌ IN BRIEF

Bus stops decisionThe city council has decided to re-think the decision to relocate bus stops in front of properties on Bower Ave, after residents felt they were not consulted on the matter. Last week the Pegasus Post reported the Burwood-Pegasus Com-munity Board approved the change which upset residents but city council spokesman Paul Burden said no action will be taken until matters raised by affected residents have been further considered.

New principalShirley Boys’ High School asso-ciate headmaster Neil Haywood is moving across town to take up the role of Riccarton High School principal. He is replac-ing Phil Holstein at the school who is moving on to Burnside High School. Mr Haywood who has been at Shirley Boys’ for six years takes up the new position in May.

Award nominationsNominations for Community Service Awards will close on April 10 at 5pm. The awards are a way to recognise groups and individuals who have done significant voluntary service to their community. In the Pegasus Post area, the nominations will be considered by the Burwood-Pegasus Community Board. Nomination forms are available from community service centres across the city.

Graffiti on the school of gymnastics building at QE II will be removed by the city council in spite of previous warnings it would not.

The city council has removed graffiti from the building previously but the school was told that would be the last time because it was a business with more than five employees.

However, the city council has confirmed it would remove the graffiti free of charge.

The school’s chief executive Avril Enslow was delighted the city council would remove the tags after attempts by the school failed.

“We tried to scrub it off with a working bee. Only one word was removed because it was put on the panel pretty well.”

Some of the graffiti is also painted high up the building which would require lifting equipment to reach.

She said it was frustrating the building had been targeted and was disappointed at city council’s initial response.

She was told the city council graffiti team would see what they could do but she did not hear back from them until the Pegasus Post made inquiries regarding the matter.

Mrs Enslow said if the city council

did not come through the school would have had to fork out the money to paint over the graffiti.

The windows have also been etched and were unable to be repaired, or replaced, due to the cost of replacing double-glazing. They were covered up as a temporary fix.

The school is set to be demolished or repaired and discussions around the specifics of that started with the city council last week.

“The board is going to be weighing up their options and waiting to see the city council site study and that was going to be in middle of the year”.

Tell me a bit about the pharmacy.I brought the existing pharmacy

that was located in the old block of shops here. This was an L-shaped strip and there used to be a post office, electrician, butchery, dairy, stationary shop, pharmacy and hairdressers. About the year 1990 that was knocked over and the current block was built.

Why are you finishing up at the pharmacy?

Time to move on. I think that I’ve done my dash here, I’m ap-proaching retirement age and I want to spend more time with my family and pursue other interests because I’ve more or less worked full time for 33 years here and last year I realised it was time to move on. My existing business partner is taking over the business. We are not closing, he is just taking over the business.

What are you going to do?Spend a bit of time doing

relieving work. Spend more time with my family, grandchild, travel

around a bit more. Retirement is unknown territory but being me I will always keep busy. I’ll find things to do. It’ll be a challenge to find a life that doesn’t revolve around pharmacies.

Can you remember your first day at the pharmacy?

I can remember the first day when I opened the business, it was called Travis Rd Pharmacy, that was in 1982 and it was a very small pharmacy – I did a few prescriptions that day. All pre-scriptions were hand typed on a typewriter and they were entered manually into a record book, and we’ve gone through some signifi-cant changes now because every-thing is totally computerised. In

those days, there was a lot of time consumed dispensing and com-pounding things, that’s all finished now everything is electronic and totally reliant on computers. In the old days we could get by because we hand typed labels, licked them and put them on glass bottles. Times have moved on.

Why east Christchurch?I did my apprenticeship in New

Brighton in 1974 which was a year-long training and then I trav-elled overseas. I worked in Austra-lia and Africa and in England and then decided I wanted to come back to New Zealand and I always liked Christchurch. So I decided

to come back here, my wife was pregnant and the opportunity came up to buy a small suburban pharmacy, which was all I could afford at the time.

Have you enjoyed your time here?

I have thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s been great; I’ve really enjoyed working for the people. Over the years I’ve seen one or two genera-tions and the people coming into my shop as little children, are now adults with families and have often stayed in the area, so I really have seen two generations come and go and I’ve got a number of people who were original customers.

Is it sad to be moving on?It’s very sad, saying goodbye to

all my customers and patients, I’ve known a lot of them for years and I’ve made a lot of lifelong friends living in this area as you would working in the area for more than 30 years. I’m very touched by the nice comments I’ve received from people and I’ve had cakes and gifts, it’s lovely. It’s nice to know people appreciate me because I have given everything to this area.

What are some of your fondest memories?

I think some of the best memo-ries are dealing with the people and getting to know the families.

MOVING ON: Don Saché behind the counter of the QE II Pharmacy.

Moving on after three decadesThe QE II Pharmacy has been a part of the community for more than three decades with pharmacist and co-owner Don Saché behind the counter. The 63-year-old is now moving on into semi-retirement after spending almost half of his life at the Travis Rd shop. Reporter Kyle Knowles spoke to him before he finishes up at the end of this week.

of service It’s very much a family area, North

Beach particularly prior to the earth-quakes and it was an area where good, hard-working people have families and they stayed, so as a result we had a regular base of clients which has just slowly grown.

The earthquakes must have taken a toll?

Yes we’ve seen the area change, we saw the establishment of two big med-ical centres around us which has been good for business, which steadily grew over the years but unfortunately the earthquakes put an end to it all. It was a victim of depopulation but I think the QE II Pharmacy will survive.

Business isn’t as buoyant as it used to be simply because customers have had to move away. We had a huge client base at Kate Sheppard and had a lot of customers come over from QE II. We’ve been badly hammered and it had a significant impact on this busi-ness but it will survive.

Is it getting better? It is probably still plateauing

because EQC and insurance compa-nies are still dealing with the eastern suburbs. The most exciting thing for this business is the high schools going into QE II so we’re looking forward to that happening. It will be good for the area.

Tell me a bit about yourself, where were you born?

I was born and bred in Wellington and after studying in Heretaunga, I moved to Christchurch in 1973 and have been here since. I’ve lived in the eastern side of Christchurch for quite a bit of my life. I’ve been part of the

east since doing my apprenticeship in New Brighton.

Why did you decide to be a pharmacist?

I just had an interest in medicine. My wife is a nurse; my mother was a nurse so I just always had a medical interest.

Did you always want to be a pharmacist?

Yes, or a vet but I studied veterinary and didn’t like it so became a pharmacist.

What do you like to do away from the pharmacy?

I’ve got a few interests. I’m not a golfer, I like to travel, I just like to get out and about to do things, walking, cycling but I’m not a golfer.

Did you play sport?Yeah I played football in high

school but I was never going to be an All Black. I might take up golf in my retirement though, everyone else does.

You mentioned family?I’ve got a wife, a daughter; Amanda

who used to work in the pharmacy and a son who lives in Australia and works in IT.

Where do you like to go on holiday?

I like Australia because I like red wine, so I like visiting wineries in South Australia, and in New Zealand I like Nelson. My family is up there and I am still going to retain a share in a pharmacy in Motueka so I like going up there.

• The QE II Pharmacy will continue to operate with Steve Hanmer taking over Mr Saché’s part of the business.

More than 100 first-year Canterbury University geog-raphy students have been in Burwood helping the local community understand more about how they are recovering from the earthquakes.

Professor Simon Kingham of the university’s department of geography says students have been surveying householders. The door-to-door survey will help leaders advocate for their community which has seen a population drop in the area because of the red zone effect.

“This is a great opportunity for the university to engage with the local community in a meaningful way and for stu-dents to learn in a real world setting. The university is com-mitted to working with com-munities. We have been doing this type of work for 10 years.

“Students learn more if they work with people. Burwood is a good community to work with. The community wants to understand more about what it is like to live in Burwood right now.

“People are especially in-terested in the assets in their neighbourhood, including the skills, knowledge and resourc-es of local people and groups. Our survey, designed in part-nership with staff and stu-dents, is exploring these issues.

“The results and informa-tion from the survey will be used to inform decisions about

Burwood, while an online map will be created that identifies the key assets of Burwood as identified by local residents. In addition, students will analyse and interpret the data as part of a major assignment in the course.

“Community leaders want to know more about the needs of their community. Our stu-dents have previously surveyed in Parklands and Avondale. Burwood was badly affected by the earthquakes. Much of it is now in the red zone. The in-formation our students collect

will help feed into the recovery process.

“We are asking them about their well-being and local con-nections. We are asking them about how they feel living in a community badly affected by the quakes. We want to know what they are doing and what services or facilities they use most in the community.

Geography students are working with other organ-isations and communities in Christchurch including the city council, Burwood Hospi-tal and Barnados.

Try our new Nepalese

Food with the best Mango Lassi in town

Parklands residents who enjoy the flavours of Indian cuisine will no doubt be delighted to discover a new menu, which includes an additional Nepalese selection of dishes, at the rebranded restaurant in Queenspark Drive, Parklands.

Formerly Curry On Route, the restaurant is now under new management and has been renamed Everest Indian Restaurant & Takeaways. The restaurant owner, who is originally from Nepal, established Christchurch’s first Everest Indian Restaurant & Takeaways in Woolston four years ago, which has proved extremely popular with people from that area of the city.

As well as introducing Nepalese flavours, the new Parklands restaurant offers all the favourites, including the ever-popular Butter Chicken, as well as Chicken or Lamb Korma, Chicken or Lamb Madras made with coconut cream, Lamb Rogan Josh, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Sagh Chicken, which is chicken with spinach.

Vegetarian dishes include Vegetarian Korma and Palak Paneer – spinach with cottage cheese. All dishes are offered in mild, medium or hot flavours, according to customer preference.

Among the entree selection are Onion Bhajis, Samosas, Chicken and Fish Tikkas, Vegetarian Momos and Chicken Momos while to finish the meal on a truly refreshing note, there is Mango Kulfi made with fresh mangoes.

What sets Everest Indian Restaurant & Takeaways apart is that all the dishes are made from fresh ingredients – nothing frozen – and this freshness ensures the dishes are flavoursome and authentic. They also make their own bread, which includes Garlic Naan, Cheese and Garlic Naan, Chicken Naan and Gluten Free Naan.

As well as regular dining, the restaurant can also accommodate 60 people for functions, such as weddings, birthdays or anniversaries, or business functions. Special discounts are available for group bookings.

Everest Indian Restaurant & Takeaways is located at 60 Queenspark Drive in the Parklands Shopping Centre. It is open for lunch Tuesday to Sunday, 11.30am to 2pm, and for dinner every day from 4.30pm till late. Phone 383 6263 to book or order takeaways.

Residents from the Pegasus Post area formed part of The Star City2Surf with Mike Pero Real Estate fun run last weekend. About 11,000 people crossed the finish line, each achieving a personal goal, Star Media general manager Steve McCaughan said. Both the 14km and 6km options were popular, but the 6km route saw the most growth with many families choosing to give it a go. The course began at Centennial Park, finishing at the Ferrymead Heritage Park.

Parents, take heart. That’s the message from Ivan Leary, of NumberWorks’nWords’ Cashmere centre. According to Ivan there are many ways parents can make learning enjoyable for their children, without resorting to bribery or force.

“Start by building a positive family culture toward learning,” says Ivan. “Show interest in school, take family visits to museums and, if you’re watching television together, use news, current events and documentaries to stimulate conversation.”

Research shows that reading for pleasure is a major predictor of success in school. So Ivan recommends that children read daily. “Designating a family reading time – 20-30 minutes a day with no TV – shows that the whole family values reading.”

The flip side of reading is writing. Email is fun because it generates responses, but a diary is a good alternative.

Maths can also be fun, and surprisingly easy to practise every day. Board games and card

games are obvious ways to engage children in mathematical thinking. But so are many everyday activities: counting items, adding up costs and working out change when you’re shopping; time-keeping in the car or on the bus; measuring and fractions when you’re baking.

Along with creating a great home environment for learning, these activities indicate how your children’s education is progressing. If they show weakness in any subject now is a good time to consider tuition, before problems take hold.

Ivan says that’s where NumberWorks’nWords, specialist maths tuition and English tuition, comes in. Centres offer one-to-one tuition to all school-aged students, with unique programs individualised for each student and his or her goals. And “so much fun it doesn’t feel like learning”.

For a free assessment and introductory lesson call NumberWorks’nWords on 33 22 033 (Cashmere) or Fraser at Burnside on 3587 917.

GRASSROOTS SPORT

Youth organisation, Te Ora Hou has launched a new initiative to get children active again after participation in sport fell in the east following the February 2011 earthquake.

Taiohi Tu is a new programme that was launched late last year that  focuses on getting children active which is now being run in four schools across the east side for year 7 and 11.

The schools are Wainoni Pri-mary, South New  Brighton, Chisnallwood Intermediate and Linwood College.

The programme is primarily designed to encourage and em-power young people to get active through participation in hour-long fitness based activities.

The children aren’t the only ones getting in the mud either.

During the sessions,  at every school, there is a no watching policy for teachers, so teach-ers  have had to throw on their running shoes and join in on the activities.

The participation and encour-agement of the teachers makes a huge contribution to supporting students getting involved and making the programme a suc-cess.

Taiohi Tu sits under the um-brella of Te Ora Hou Otautahi and is co-ordinated by qualified youth worker and representative

athlete, Vicki Campbell.Campbell is well known in the

youth work circles with more than 10 years experience, men-toring young people for Te Ora Hou as well as her accomplish-ments in sports, which include participating in the Women’s

2014 Rugby World Cup in Paris. She had represented Samoa

and New Zealand in rugby league, Samoa in rugby union and New Zealand Niue in touch rugby. She has had a long rep-resentative history in the Can-terbury Women’s NPC and 7’s

squads. Shortly she will also be off to the Touch World Cup in Coffs Harbour, Australia.

Even though Taiohi Tu has only been running for two school terms, the children are already showing growth and de-velopment.

“We have students of all shapes and sizes, many who schools have identified as unmotivated to do physical activity. One young person who did not enjoy exercise surprised me, for she not only joined in for the sake of participating, but she had a go-hard attitude in every single ses-sion that we took, she just kept on coming back,” Campbell said.

South New Brighton teacher Jo Chalmers said having Camp-bell was fantastic for the pupils.

“They are completely focused, they are on the same wave length with each other and she’s been able to push them and look at their goal setting. The results that  we’ve seen so far with our zones in sports that we’ve had, it’s been really good. The kids are loving it.”

Te Ora Hou has plans on grow-ing the Taiohi Tu programme through 2015, starting with the programme being introduced into more schools, starting with Mairehau Primary in term two.

BY MARK THOMAS - FIRE RISK MANAGEMENT OFFICER

There are two fire appliances in the city along with a number out in the country that are set up as rescue trucks.

This means they are equipped with the specialised equipment necessary to cut, spread and lift the often twisted metal of car crashes.

Normally this is only required

when a victim is trapped by that twisted metal from being freed.

It’s an undertaking that needs to be done without further injur-ing the person but also needs to be done quickly.

Delay in getting seriously injured people to hospital can greatly increase the danger to them.

Last Saturday saw two of these extractions carried out by Sockburn’s crew, in the morning,

at Buchanans Rd, and then late in the afternoon at Prebbleton, where a young girl was trapped.

In both cases we hope for quick recuperation of those injured.

Multi-boxes have been men-tioned recently as a source of fire.

A school in Sockburn was for-tunate to be equipped with smoke detection, again last Saturday, when a multi-box with lots of plugs in it overheated and started smoking.

Attended by Addington’s crew

the incident was quickly handled with minimal damage.

Without the smoke alarms? Well we would probably have lost at least one classroom. Maybe more.

Not long now to the end of daylight savings. If you didn’t change smoke alarm batteries at the start of this season, now is the time to put the batteries on the shopping list.

Keep them operating. They do save lives.

Fire appliances well equipped

Ten young Christchurch drivers have graduated from the Commu-nity Driver Mentor Programme held in Aranui, which was aimed at helping them gain their re-stricted licence and become safer on our roads.

The CDMP is a partnership be-tween the New Zealand Transport Agency and NZ AA, Salvation Army Education & Employment and New Zealand Police.

The programme addresses the disadvantages that learner drivers in the 16 to 24-year age group can face getting their restricted licence, such as having access to a suitable vehicle or an appropri-ate experienced driver to help them practice, says the transport agency’s access and use general manager Celia Patrick.

Programme participants were partnered with volunteer mentor drivers who commit to spending 30 hours driving with the learners to foster positive driving habits and help them get the range of experience and skills they need to stay safe on New Zealand roads.

Hyundai recently added its support to the programme, with three of their dealers (Gary Cock-ram Hyundai, Manukau Hyundai, and IC Motors in Whangarei) providing brand new five-star ANCAP rated i20s for learners to use.

A total of 172 young drivers have graduated through the pro-gramme to date.

Tracey Shewan from Koru Healing in New Brighton specialises in acupuncture and treats a broad range of conditions.

Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese medicine where tiny needles are placed at particular points on the body to restore imbalances.

“ ese imbalances disrupt the ow of qi (vital energy) through the meridians (energetic pathways running through our bodies). By restoring the balance, this stimulates the body’s ability to heal itself,” says Tracey.

As the cooler weather approaches, Tracey can help clients with immune support, bronchitis and asthma. Acupuncture is also e ective for many other health conditions including chronic pain, migraines, digestion, skin conditions, immune disorders and women’s health issues.

“Tracey’s work with me has been

wonderful. She has helped me with calci c tendonitis in my shoulder as well as lower back and neck issues, and my energy is clearer and stronger,” says client Penelope.

Tracey looks at the whole picture of her client’s health and at the root cause as well as the symptoms.

“Stress and emotional issues can play a huge part in how a person is feeling and these factors are considered in treatment.”

Tracey is also experienced in treating musculoskeletal conditions, such as back and neck pain, sciatica, tendonitis, frozen shoulder, carpal tunnel and tennis elbow.

Acupuncture is also used at the Koru Healing clinic to help and support people with cancer to complement their conventional treatments and reduce the impact of the symptoms caused by radiotherapy and chemotherapy or following surgery.

“Acupuncture can treat symptoms

associated with these cancer treatments such as nausea, fatigue, hot ushes and pain, and also helps reduce stress and anxiety.”

Another option for treating depression and anxiety is Pascha therapy, which is also one of Tracey’s services at Koru Healing.

“Pascha therapy works by supporting a person to open up to and gain better

Acupuncture offers a natural and holistic choice for niggling health issues through to chronic pain. The treatment is not only subsidised by ACC as a way to

treat injuries, but is also supported by the World Health Organisation.

Acupuncture: A natural option

understanding of their feelings. rough this process comes insight and clarity into what may be needed in order to heal and move forward in life, ultimately leading to a greater sense of self and a feeling of empowerment,” says Tracey.

“A er receiving treatment from Tracey, I was amazed at how relaxed and calm I felt,” says client Laura, while Chris says, “I always experience relief from any symptoms and walk out feeling relaxed and energised.”

To make an appointment with Tracey at Koru Healing, phone 388 9785 or 021 0269 5523. ere is also plenty of information about acupuncture, Pascha therapy and cancer support on Koru Healing’s website www.koruhealing.co.nz.

Kaiya contacted us after finding she was on the hook for her ex-boyfriends debts, and wanted to know what she could do.

It turned out that Kaiya had agreed to be a guarantor for her then boyfriend when he bought a TV and laptop on credit.

Unfortunately, like many clients we see, Kaiya had not fully understood what being a guarantor meant. A common misconception is that being a guarantor is like giving someone a character reference, but it’s not; it’s actually agreeing to pay someone’s debt if they don’t or can’t pay it themselves.

Guaranteeing a loan or other credit contract makes you responsible for paying the debt if the borrower doesn’t pay it. Being a guar-antor is risky, so if you’ve been asked make sure you know what the risks and implications are.

One key thing to know is that if the borrower doesn’t pay back the loan the lender is not required to seek pay-ment from them first; they can just go directly to you

(the guarantor) and if neces-sary require you to sell any security that was included in the agreement.

Another key thing to be aware of is that many guar-antees are ‘unlimited’; this means that you are not just guaranteeing one particular loan, but also any future loans from the same lender.

If you are asked to be a guarantor for someone, ask yourself the following ques-tions:

• Why do they need a guarantor (do they have a poor credit history? Is it likely they will have prob-lems making the payments?)

• Would you be willing and able to back the loan

(plus debt recovery costs) if the borrower can’t or won’t?

• What would you list as security, and are you willing to risk having it repossessed if the money can’t be paid back?

A contract to become a guarantor must be in writ-ing and must be signed. Because of the risks involved in becoming a guarantor we recommend that you get independent legal advice before you sign any agree-ment.

•To talk to one of our team about being a guaran-tor or to volunteer for Citi-zens Advice Bureau contact 0800 367 222

Madsen Promotions presents...

Paul Madsen returns to the Hornby Workingmen’s Club next Friday (10th April) with a tribute show combining two legendary acts - The Eagles and Creedence Clearwater Revival.

“The show will open with The Eagles Show,” said Paul. “With the recent appearance of the real thing in Auckland early March, Madsen Promotions thought it a logical choice of show for fans in Christchurch who didn't make it to Auckland…an affordable alternative!”

Paul Madsen, runner up in ‘Stars in their Eyes’, is a respected singer/performer. He has been entertaining crowds nationally and internationally for over 25 years and is well known for fronting Madsen Promotions many tribute style shows.

“Eagles N.Z. is New Zealand’s own Eagles Show. A tribute to America’s most popular country rock band. Madsen Promotions brings this rendition of the real thing with sweeping melodic harmonies topped with raw edge guitar,” said Paul. “The show is hit after hit with songs such as Hotel California, Take It Easy, Peaceful Easy Feeling, New Kid in Town, etc.”

The Creedence Clearwater Revival Show is a new show for Madsen Promotions. According to Paul they chose this group because the up-tempo songs - such as Midnight Special, Bad Moon Rising, Down on the Corner, Proud Mary, etc - usually result in a packed out dance floor.

Tribute to the Eagles and Creedence Clearwater Revival | | Friday 10th April, 8.00pm | Tickets $20 at the club office, Carmen Rd,
