Confessional Schools

Religious Education is a discipline (DC, 73) and the Church affirms that it must be integrated in the school programs (EC, 50 / DECAT, 171 / EIS, 42), in an explicit, systematic way (EC, 50), with quality and rigor required by the other disciplines (LE, 59 / DC, 73), with the peculiar characteristic of dialoguing with culture and relating to other forms of knowledge (DC 73). As well as recognizing the pluralism of modern society (GE, 7), as well as religious freedom and the right of families to define their moral and religious principles (GE, 7 / CR, 124).

Science of Reference is the Science of religion which allows the study of religious manifestations from the expressions and foundations of the religious traditions, it systematically investigates the religions in all their manifestations, with the commitment to understanding proselytism and not to promoting it.

LAMINA 04

The selection of contents and strategies occurs from the understanding that Religious Education favors the formation towards respect for diversity, because according to Nelson Mandela individuals are not born hating people as a result of their options or their origin, they need be taught to exclude, so the opposite is also possible: learning to have respect for diversity.

LAMINA 05

Four axies: - cosmovision: vision of the world of the religious traditions and interferes in the social experiences of individuals. - ethos: refers to applicability, or rather, o the atitudes of the individuals from the vison of the world. - expressions: materialization of the conception of the world by way of rites, social organisation of the community; - language: the way how each religion expresses its beliefs; the Faith of each one; body and language expressing their beliefs.
