What are the cultural contexts of the socio-ecological transition?

What can interdisciplinary analyses (economics, sociology, history, philosophy, anthropology for example) tell us of the complex collective meanings of "well-being"?

•  Examine the cultural contexts of the socio-ecological transition, focusing the question of temporality, and paying special attention to the role of education and learning systems in enhancing a culture of sustainable development.

•  The target is to produce sound knowledge to enlighten the reflections of the other WP, and in connection with WP6 (Governance) and WP8 (Dissemination) to help the stakeholders to use well-being as a driver of social change in a new model of governance for a new path of development.

[Well-being] – 1A <well-being> Language and uses of "well being”

Animate by Eric BOUTIN, CNRS-Université de Toulon – Var, France

•  Multidisciplinary approach: •  a synchronic perspective (ontology of well-being);

•  a contingent perspective (difference of speech according to the transmitter);

•  cultural variations of meaning and values (qualitative surveys inspired by grounded theory and lexicographical analysis);

•  a diachronic perspective (studying the evolution of this concept through time).

•  To drive this work: studies of multimedia corpuses stemming from Web (webometric analysis and automatic text processing techniques). Semi-directive interviews of stakeholders of the project will be also realized and analysed. At last, our perspective will focus on the role that digital technology plays in the expectations and preferences for well being.
