Step 2: Every School a Good
School as a template
•Look at the Every School a Good School characteristics that have been included in the template. (ESaGS pages 14-16)
•Are there any you would NOT include?•Of those that you do want to include, are you happy
with the wording of the modified characteristics?•Are there others you WOULD include?
Step 3: Customising the
template
•Customize/populate the template so that it describes pastoral practice in your school
•Remember to refer to your School Development Plan to ensure that any statements you make are in line with those which you have already used to summarise and evaluate pastoral care arrangements (set out in sections 2 and 3 of the SDP).
Step 4: Consulting with
stakeholders
•How will you and the Governors consult with parents about the revised policy?
•How will you and the Governors consult with pupils about the policy e.g. the Pastoral Promises?
