Scheig Associates An Envisage Company
Talent Selection & Development Solutions
With the help of Scheig Associates’ suite of job-specific
behaviorally based hiring tools, you can conduct
assessments for measuring behavioral performance, sales
and service potential, workplace skills and safety to help
ensure you find the candidate who is the best fit for your
open position and organization.
Scheig Associates’ behavioral assessments have been designed
specifically for employers to provide more effective, efficient
screening of key high performance job behaviors essential to success.
Each pre-configured test assesses candidates across a wide variety of
job related performance criteria to help you get a more complete
profile of job candidates before making costly hiring decisions.
Pre-Configured job-Specific Behavioral Tests Ready-to-use, validated tests are available for the following job families:
School Custodian
School Secretary
Paraeducator
School Bus Driver
Diesel Technician
K-3 Elementary School Teacher
For many employers, one of the most difficult aspects of implementing a testing program is finding a test or series of
tests that meet their company’s precise needs. Until now, the alternative for those seeking a custom assessment
solution has been an expensive project with a test developer or publisher to create custom tests from scratch.
Unlike other assessments, many of which use one-size-fits-all instruments to measure the knowledge and skills
required for a diverse set of jobs, Scheig’s highly portable tests allows you to implement a very cost effective tailored
assessment.

When our clients use the system as it has been designed, dramatic and positive results follow.
Overview of the Scheig Hiring & Performance System™
Identify the best possible candidates using Scheig’s
FastTrack™ Job-Specific Pre-Employment Assessments.
Confirm candidate selection using objective measures with
the InnerView™ structured Interview Questions.
Develop new & existing employees for maximum performance using the
SoundWorks™ Performance Evaluation.
“the best of
the best
employees” Our experts designed and developed the Scheig Hiring & Performance System™ in three separate Steps. Each Step has a different focus, but the goal remains the same: to identify and develop high performance employees.
Create an accurate & reliable standardization of
success across all your hiring locations.
Using Scheigs’ proven Job Success Profile™, your recruiters
and hiring managers can take advantage of the same
objective model of success. Via the internet all your locations
receive access to the same reliable testing software that lets
them easily and quickly assess candidates based on the same
criteria proven to drive results. Our pre-employment
solution was designed to easily scale to your needs and
accommodate the complexities of the largest companies.
Why Scheig?
Objectively define & quantify the Job Success
Profile™ of known, superior performers.
At the heart of Scheigs’ predictive capability is our pre-
employment assessment’s ability to rank order candidates
against a job-specific, pre-configured Job Success Profile™
developed using the industry’s known, superior performers.
Now, the way the top performers do a particular job becomes
the standard against which all others are measured.
At scheig, we don’t force personality traits or psychological constructs to bridge the gap between success and the individual and then label them as ‘behaviors’. We focus on the actual, job-specific behaviors that account for variances in performance outcomes. Our assessments measure a candidate’s behavioral job-match to your position’s Job Success Profile™ and those results are reported back to you in a concise, easy to interpret applicant score report.
Protect your organization by introducing
defensible validity into your hiring process.
All too often traditional competencies rely on the subjective
“gut feel” of your hiring managers to come up with the
required performance elements for a position. This
approach is no different than flipping a coin – there is little
to no correlation between subjective competencies and
actual success on the job. Scheigs’ objective, legally
defensible employment solutions come straight from a
thorough job analysis to measure the person against the
actual job behaviors that define success in your positions.
“Monroe Public Schools is excited about the results experienced using Scheig’s Assessments as part of our hiring
process for classified positions. From office professionals to bus drivers the tool has proved to be effective & accurate.”

Step one of the School Works™ Hiring & Performance System™ is the FastTrack™ Pre-Employment Assessment. Our pre-employment assessment solution is designed to help you identify top performers from your applicant pool, reduce employee turnover and improve employee performance & productivity by duplicating the high performance behavioral elements of known, superior performers.
The assessment serves four purposes: 1. It acts as a communication tool - the
employer can subtly provide the applicant with a comprehensive overview of the behaviors they will need to bring to the job in order to be successful in that job. Some people find that this position is not for them because of the requirement to successfully perform each of these behaviors.
2. It allows applicants to select any unwilling responses which flag possible problems.
3. It provides a highly useful and detailed profile of the strength and weaknesses of the applicant. This profile can be used for more effective training, placement, and further development of existing employees.
4. It serves as an understanding between the employer and employee of what is expected on the job.
5. It allows you to spot those applicants who describe themselves in high performance terms which makes this assessment a very powerful tool.
Step 1: FastTrack™ Assessment
“Scheig Assessments delivers the essence of the jobs
responsibilities to the hiring process, providing our potential
candidates with insight into the work they are applying for.”

Step 2: InnerView™ Behaviorally Based
Structured Interview
Step two of our SchoolWorks™ Hiring & Performance System™ is the InnerView™ Structured Interview Questions. This step contains our set of behaviorally based structured interview questions. The questions are developed from the same set of high performance job behaviors revealed in the job analysis. It is the confirmation phase of the System and transitions the applicant from the pre-employment domain into the employment domain.
Using our InnerView™ questions as a guide allows you to stay focused on important key objective measures while, at the same time, allowing you to notice your applicant on a personal level as well. Although, in part, an interview is meant to help prevent us from hiring individuals who would be displeasing to work with, what matters most is not what kind of personality a person is, but whether or not they do the specific job behaviors that superior performers tell us make a difference on the job.
“We have been using Scheig over the past couple of years. We have found it to be a beneficial tool in helping us reach one of our strategic plan goals of hiring high quality people
to work with our children.”
Rick Doehle Executive Director of HR
Central Valley School District
After using the Fast Track™ assessment to filter your resumes, interview only with pre-qualified “best of the best” applicants and stay focused on high performance behaviors with Scheig’s InnerView™ questions.
“the questions are
designed to reveal
the candidates’
strengths as they
directly correlate
to the behaviors
required to do the
job successfully.”
Step three, of the SchoolWorks™ Hiring & Performance System™ is the SoundWorks™ Performance Evaluation. SoundWorks™ is designed to evaluate the performance of the new employee and to assess any possible needs they might have for further training and development.
By using the outstanding, award-winning employees who are already doing the job successfully as the standard for evaluation, the employer ensures that all the employees doing that job are moving in the same direction; toward the same level of excellence and constant improvement.
SoundWorks™ is an excellent tool to help you identify specific behaviors within your workforce to be improved, and it’s about helping your employees reach their full potential.
“it acts as a complete,
dispassionate
communication tool
between the manager
and the employee.”
