Our mission is to provide more.” Alongi’s team also produces NJTV’s Special Reports, such as this month’s Primary Day coverage, which will include two live on-air and online editions of NJTV News. The NJTV News team will also bring you live coverage of the New Jersey Legislative Select Committee on Investigation Hearings — aka the “Bridgegate” hearings. INSIDE THE GARDEN STATE Learn more at njtvonline.org PRIMARY DAY: JUNE 3 AT 6PM & 11PM NJLSC HEARINGS: JUNE 3 AT 10AM & 1PM The men and women who serve in the United States Armed Forces are commended for their brave efforts fighting and protecting freedom and civil liberties around the world. But what happens when these servicemen and women are discharged from duty and have to acclimate to life as a civilian? Best-selling author and U.S. Army veteran Wes Moore searches for answers to some of the difficult questions veterans face when they return home from war in the new three-part series Coming Back With Wes Moore. Over the course of the series, Moore meets with 10 servicemen and women from across the United States who are readjusting to civilian life after serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. “We want to better humanize re-integration by taking the audience into the lives of these men and women as they return from war,” he said. Moore’s desire to learn why some veterans easily reintegrate into society while others struggle was sparked by the suicide of Brian Collins, one of his oldest friends and a fellow officer. Viewers learn about Brian’s story in Coming Back (June 26). Fitting In (July 3) looks at the concept of identity and how it is altered both during deploy- ment and again when veterans return home, fundamentally changed by war, and need to reestablish their identity in a world they used to know but that is now profoundly changed. The final episode, Moving Forward (July 10), explores the veterans’ common drive to find a new mission and dedicate themselves to something bigger than themselves. Moore hopes the series will initiate a national conversation on the subject while providing veterans with an outlet to share and reflect on their experiences. “There is more we can do than simply saying ‘thank you for your service’” he said. “We can truly show our gratitude by asking them to share their experiences.”

PRIMARY DAY: JUNE 3 AT 6PM & 11PMNJLSC HEARINGS: JUNE 3 AT 10AM & 1PM

The men and women who serve in the United States Armed Forces are commended for their brave efforts fighting and protecting freedom and civil liberties around the world.

Fitting In (July 3) looks at the concept of identity and how it is altered both during deploy-ment and again when veterans return home, fundamentally changed by war, and need to reestablish their identity in a world they used to know but that is now profoundly changed.
