THE DOUBLERichard Ayoade's stylized adaptation of Fyodor Dostoevsky's novella The Double stars Jesse Eisenberg as Simon James, a meek office drone who bumbles his way through his day, forever pining for a pretty girl who lives near him and working hard for a boss who doesn't see any of his accomplishments. Simon has a new co-worker, James Simon (also Eisenberg), who looks just like him and possesses all of the confidence and charisma that Simon lacks. Simon befriends this new person, and soon the put-upon man is asserting himself. However, he begins to fear he's becoming just another pawn in James' relentless self-interests.

SIX BY SONDHEIM

Stephen Sondheim,Audra McDonaldHBO Documentary Films;Directed by James LapineRated TV14; 84 minutes

“Everybody has problems. Nobody goes through life unscathed, and I think if you write about those things, you’re going to touch people,” says Stephen Sondheim at the start of Six by Sondheim, an intimate look into his long and prolifi c career creating ground-breaking work that has redefi ned the musical theater. Directed by award-winning Broadway director and playwright James Lapine, and predominantly told by Sondheim himself, this 84-minute fi lm weaves together dozens of interviews of Sondheim, conducted throughout his illustrious career. Archival performances of Sondheim classics by stars like Bernadette Peters and Ethel Merman are interspersed with new performances produced exclusively for this feature documentary, showcasing such stars as Audra McDonald, Darren Criss and America Ferrera. Blending theatrical footage with rare interview footage and Sondheim’s candid anecdotes, the fi lm underscores Sondheim’s unique, conversational songwriting style, and focuses on S ondheim’s experiences writing six songs: “Something’s Coming,” “Opening Doors,” “Send in the Clowns,” “I’m Still Here,” “Being Alive” and “Sunday.” Art and life are intertwined for Sondheim, and Six by Sondheim is a story of both.

Stephanie Soechtig's documentary Fed Up, hosted by Katie Couric, presents the case that the food industry and the government have acted together in order to change the eating habits of America in a way that has led to widespread obesity in children. Anticipated Availability: August 2014
