Dear IFMP members:

Welcome to the 2013 IFMP Annual Cultural Show!

The India Foundation of Metropolitan Princeton, (IFMP) is a non-profit organization, dedicated to promoting cultural activities concerning Indian culture. The primary objective of this association is to provide a forum for our community to celebrate our traditions. Our Annual cultural program allows us to share our culture with all our neighbors to help keep our heritage vibrant.

This year we started off with a great Holi celebration followed by a fund-raiser musical concert for Sandy victims in association with Hidden Gems. Our picnic was disrupted by rain to some extent but the people who came enjoyed nevertheless especially the hot food. This was followed by our Garba night where we had more than 1200 people. This was one of the biggest crowds we have ever witnessed in our Garba events and we really appreciate your love and affection. Members of our youth chapter have been very active through out the year in supporting EKAL and Sankara foundations in multiple ways and have been performing musical programs for the members of multiple senior centers.

And now, it is time for our biggest event of the year – the Annual Cultural Program. It is a fun-filled event with food, songs, dances and more food. I am very excited about the fact that lately adults have started to take interest and every year we have at least 4-5 adult dances. It gives me a lot of pleasure to see that the parents are now sharing stage with their kids. I think in its own unique way, IFMP has been helping families come together.

I feel very fortunate that I got this opportunity to serve the community and lead such a great organization. I am looking forward to a more progressive organization that not only provides a forum for community events but also takes pride in helping the community whenever and wherever possible. I would like to thank my family, friends, Committee members and trustees who were with me at every stage and without whose support, I would not have been able to do so much.
